warped rotors...possible fix
i warped my front rotors at 5000 miles, or so i thought... i pulled the rotors and installed them on the brake lathe and found only .001" inch of lateral variation, not nearly as bad as i assumed they would be, felt more like.005" (pretty warped). upon reinstallation i cleaned every bit of rust/corrosion off the wheel hub (Quite a bit for anew car) and very lightly applied high temp bronze anti seize to repel further corrosion. i have since driven the car even harder than i did at first, now at 18,000 miles my brakes are still smooth. i have a feeling that the corrosion buildup significantly aids in warping these rotors as some corrosion may build up unevenly and therefore not evenly sandwich the rotors against the hubs perfectly.just an observation, maybe this will help someone...
