Okay, I am aware that there has been extensive talk about Valvebody mods on this forum. From using the search feature and everything ive read from them, i still cant draw a consice conclusin about having this done. I am aware of 2 places that do this. Level Ten and Don. Level Ten I have contacted asking about te pros and cons and pricing. What I want to know is, from the peeps on here who have had it done, what difference did you notice and whould you suggest I have this done? Are there any other places that do this mod and is it worth the time and money?

Thanx

Difference? A much firmer and faster shift... it's not head jerking or CD skipping, but there is no slippage at all. Cold weather slippage? None...

It's well worth the price, just ask any 4th gen people that have done it. The only 5th gens with the mod are DMan_2kse (Diederik), mingo (Daniel), yo_its_ok (Hogan, but he took it out), and myself.

The only places are Level 10... $750(?)
Don... $450 (but he's not doing it anymore)

One other alternative is to do it yourself or pick your own transmission shop to do the work. I can not speak for this too much, for I have never installed one.

Go here http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/2k_parts_list.html and look for "shift kit" at the bottom of the list.

Hey Kevin, you forgot me

I did the VB by Don-Texas, and also did the TCM and the trans, oil cooler. To be honest, in my case I had a slight improvement from first to second shifts, from second to third there you can feel it harder, but in this cars what you need is a good kick from first to second. Ill tell you more I tested mine at the strip and did not improve even a tenth for the 1/4 mile. All around it does has a better feel, but performance wise from 1-10 Ill give a 5(five), ughh think a 4 1/2 will fit better.
Y2K A/T Stillen YPipe, VB, Hayden Cooler, ST RSB, Tokico Gas Struts.
Tested but gone back to Stock: PR CAI,Stillen Hy Flow, Eibach Pro Kit, Stillen Muffler and Random Cat ( This tests and combos has cost lots of $$$$ )
