BTW, this was in the Arizona desert... Nothing but me and a Ferrari 308 .. Oh, and the Ferrari got roasted !

how fast
1998 max se 5spd 135 (ran out of clear road)
2002 max gle 130ish (same as above)
2002 harley electra glide classic only goes 110 with tail wind!
35 y.o and drive over 100 daily!working 4 to midnight is good for speed!

Both in my 2003 Maxima SE
Forgot one...Age 25 two summers ago, my dads friend built a car to run on the Utah salt flats. He got it up to 235 mph I hit just over 205 before crapping my pants. Had a old 501 or 502 caddy engine in it that he built from the ground up. The car was featured in several mags. At 501 or 2 cubic inches they stoped when they reached 845 hp. I will try and get pics of it to post this weekend.

Back when I was young and foolish, speedos only went up to 100MPH. I have buried it and then some on the following: My 1966 GTO, a freinds 1968 GTO, My 1971 Thunderbird (ran with a Vette for about 40 miles well in excess of 120MPH, we even passed a cop - he didn't bother chasing); My 1978 6.6L Trans Am. Haven't had the opportunity to take my 2K1 Max 5SP past 120 yet, but when there it is very stable, on par with the TBird and TA.

At 11 EVERYTHING closes, and it was 2 in the am, we were comin back from Providence and it was a slight downhill...i had the speedo pinned for about 5 seconds while everyone looked...had about 5 people in the car(i mentioned it was downhill) And just before i got off the exit, i saw blue flashers about 3 miles back...dont know if it was a cop, but it was kinda scary knowing that i just did that speed...

I managed 137 and change on the Las Vegas Speedway a couple of years ago, at the Richard Petty Driving Experience (good for highest speed in my half-day group ). Just about topped out to what they let the half day students run. Real timing, so there aren't any optomistic speedometer readings or wishful thinking involved. Probably went 160-ish in the ride-along I took with one of the instructors first.
Oh, and I was not quite 53 at the time.
I've had the needle stuck against the back side of the zero peg on the 85 mph OE speedo in the Malibu (> ~125). Last year.
I've only had this Maxima up to maybe 100. Too much traffic and not enough reason.

I was just gonna say Honda but that would have been really cryptic, but yes it was in the NSX. The car was rock-solid at high speeds while my Max feels scary nearing just nearing the century mark.

Buried the needle (140mph+)on my '95SE 5-spd a few weeks ago running with a 330Ci (he couldn't shake me ). All this with just a cone filter, no MAF screen & 207,000mile on the odometer. Can't wait for the Budget y-pipe
