Yea it's fun, and the weird thing is I'll do triple digits on a bike, but in a car I think twice because it takes twice as long to accelerate and brake.

147+ in a modded 1999 Contour SVT
120+ 1968 GTO Ram Air II
140+ 1987 Buick GNX ----(Awesome Car!)
155+ 1999 RENNtech SLK 230
The SLK 230 (It's no longer a 2.3L I4, but bored/stroked 2.5L I4) is the fastest car to any speed I've ever driven in my life. This car is a joint effort of my brother and I. Most fun I've ever had in a car (other than sex). My brother spent $23K buying it used (under 24K miles), and I spent at least that much on it at RENNtech last year when he was on deployment. Dynoed at 319.7 RWHP and 322.6 RWTQ. The car only weighs 2886 lbs (no driver)! Feels like a motorcycle, no, more like a carrier catapult launch. Look for him in the Virginia Beach area. Just don't race him (the cops in VA are absolutely vicious).

1) What's the fastest you've ever driven? Approx. 255 KMpH (The last time I looked at the odo before slowing down)
2) What kind of car was it? BRABUS (Mercedes E class, I think it said E 280) (A relatives car. I probably will never be able to actually afford one )
3) How old were you at the time? 22
4) What's the fastest you've driven your Max? 130 MpH (Atleast that's what the odo said)

1. 145mph
2. In a Lexus GS 400 coming from DC to NY at 4 in the morning, made it back in 2hrs 15 minutes (normally a 3 1/2 hour trip). I would never ever ever do something like that again!!!!!! Luckily i didn't see any troopers or if they saw me they knew they would not catch me.
3. I was 28
4. Since I only had my Max for 3 weeks about 100mph...........I'll go faster soon.

Re: What is the fastest you've ever driven?
1) 150mph on the Autobahn between Frankfurt and Koln
2) Saab 9-3 convertible (with the top DOWN)
3) I was 32 (it was last year)
4) Fastest I've driven my Max is 75mph... it only has 200 miles on it, just starting to break it in.

"The 2003 Maxima is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, or sports sedan, available in 3 trims, ranging from the GXE to the GLE. The 2003 Maxima's closest competitors include the Buick LeSabre, the Hyundai XG350, and the Toyota Camry. Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 255-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2003 Maxima is a carryover from 2002."
Just wanted to clear up ANY doubts whether or not the '03 Maxes have 255 HP. (jealous?)

140mph+ @ 7800 RPM. In my 67 Cougar in 1978- Passed my friend in his Pontiac that was doing 125. He seemed like he was on a Sunday drive. Age 17, fearless, dumb, and full of c.m.
289 balanced, 750 Holley double pumper, 10 1/2:1 forged , Isky cam, solid lifters, Hooker headers, Edelbrock F4B, toploader 4 speed, auto geared rear diff.. My Merc is parked in my back yard. First car, still have it 26 years later. Maybe I can use it for a casket someday? Or fix it up and race some Maximas?
...............
140, at least. Dad's 73 Buick Riviera, AT, 455 4bbl. In 1979. Car started floating and speedo disappeared behind dash way past 120, so I had to shut it down (OK, I got scared that time). Lightpoles went by like fenceposts. That car would smoke the tires right off the rims. I set a record for longest burnout in my hometown. My &*&@!& brother snitched on me, so I never got a chance to beat the record.
..........
144mph 1989 Taurus SHO MT 5 speed. Redlined many times. Car pulled hard all the way to about 135, then took longer to get to 144. That car would just squat down and drive smooth and straight at high speeds, and that Yamaha motor sang like a Italian Stallion. The aerodynamics are better than a Mustang. 30mpg to boot.
Went fast in straight line, but had to granny the curves. Pushed hard in the corners, and never knew where it was going to go: Straight, right, left, or around and around. I'd nevr own one again. I'd put the motor in my Maxima, though.
............
130mph: 1997 Maxima SE. Not quite redlined, and would have gone faster, but traffic was ahead. A little less stable than SHO at that speed, but my front end was out of alignment then. I'll have to do it again someday when I get safer tires.
95mph. 1986 Chevy S-10 4x4 5 speed. Took a few miles to get going that fast, downhill.

OK. Anyone who has not driven over 120, is a BIG weenie. In fact, 71 year old granny's have more ***** than you!
I was reading up on the NEW PT Cruiser Turbo, and came acoss this:
"I love the car (PT Turbo) but am annoyed by several changes. Chrysler eliminated the folding heated mirrors, the passenger-side door key lock and the rear cargo net. On a 3000-mile road trip we drove 750 miles one day without problems and I’m 71 years old. I had a chance to open it up on a Texas back road, and it reached 120 mph fairly quickly and after a mile or so reached 124. Aside from being a practical, fun-to-drive car, it is also fun to own." -B.M. Brock, Valrico, Fla.
