Engine Block crack.....

Hi All. Happy Holiday!

It's been stoming the past few days in Frisco. I have a question about the durability of the engine block. I ran over a few deep unavoidable puddles on the road and was wondering how well does our aluminum engine block stand up to the quenching of the cold water. Will the sudden splash of cold water cause the engine block to crack? I've hear the old gen Z had a problem with that. When the waters too deep and reaches the engine block, if can cause it the block to crack. So how does our 5th gen engine block stand up to that. My ride is bone stock, no suspension work been done to it. Just wondering.....PLease respond.

Is the block alumunim? I thought it was iron? If it's aluminum it stands up better to cracking than iron. But honestly I highly doubt the block will crack with the weather up in Frisco. Look at all the guys driving around on the east coast in the snow, slush, sleet, hail, harder rain. I have yet to hear of a problem with cracking blocks there. So I think you are safe. Besides, it's covered under the 60k powertrain warranty,

Just make sure you don't drive in the rain after the odometer hits 60K miles.

We have an alloy block. And it will be fine. People even wash their engines in the self carwashes and they are fine.
