2003 SE 6spd Purchasing Question

I've been negotiating on a 2003 SE 6spd with the leather, meridian, and titanium packages with sunroof and helical LSD. The lowest the dealer has been willing to go is ~$27,000. Is this on the high side? I'm looking for feedback from people who have purchased similarly equiped maximas to find out what a fair purchase price would be. Thanks.

I just went thru a similar negotiation. The only difference was that the car was a 2002. The car had a sticker at $30,200. I told the guy that this was basically a used car being that the 2002's had already depreciated. The 2k3's are out and 04's are coming right behind them.

They got down to $1000 under invoice plus rebates. That would have put the car at around $25k+, plus 2.9% interest. I thought that was still too much. I think that would have been an ok deal for a 2k3.

I paid like 27K 5 months ago, now that the 03's have been out a while I would offer 26 and walk...they will stop you. If not wait, they will call...

I got the EXACT same car for $25,825 about 3 weeks ago. I had a bunch of dealerships that were offering in the mid 26k's, and some in the high 26k's (almost 27k), but I kept shopping around, and got a really good deal. Just be patient and make these dealerships earn your business. At this point in time, this being end of the year and all, I don't think there should be a problem for getting that car for around $25,600. Definitely do NOT settle for anything more than $26,000. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies guys. The prices you quoted were in the range I thought I should be paying. It just seems these guys haven't been very willing to deal, but I plan on being patient and just waiting it out. I'm sure they'll start to cave with the end of the year getting very near. I'll let you know what kind of deal I ended up with.
