It seems when I am driving along and my tranny goes to shift from 1st to 2nd sometimes I get a high pitched squeal from the tranny and then it shifts..... has anyone seen this before?

 

I have that problem too, noticed it during the friction point of the clutch release. Only happens between 1st and 2nd gear when casually driving.

 

Any Idea of the Fix for it? Its under warrenty, so it doesn't really matter but I am curious.

 

Generally a squeal is a belt slip. This should be covered under warranty but you will probably have to demonstrate the issue to them.

 

I am just trying to get some more info so I can explain it to the dealership.

 

I hear that in my 00. My dealer said that was normal, but i dunno. I did test drive an 03 (with 5 miles on the clock) a month ago and heard the same thing. That doesn't make it right though...just another reason why I'm a little worried about if this car will hold up.

What do you mean by belt slip???
