as for the 25K...sounds great, but intuitively, it seems a bit much, doesn't it?

Actually the Series 2000 0w-30 you can go 35,000 or 1 year. Look at the oil analisys spreadsheet at the top of the general forumn to see how long oils are holding up. I believe 15k with Amsoil is reasonable with filter changes in between. Amsoil is the best, but you need to decide which is best for your needs. If your gonna change your oil every 3k then I doubt you'll notice a difference in any synthetic oil.

AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 is a 25K miles/1 year oil. If you are getting close to 25K miles per year on your car then I would bet you are doing a lot of highway driving. Chances are most people will hit the 1 year mark before they hit the 25K mile mark.
I change my ASL once per year with the filter change at 6 months. The mileage I change at doesn't matter right now since I am only putting 7500 miles/year on my Max and 12K miles/year on my Ody.
