How offten do you change you Amsoil?

The reason I ask is because the Amsoil website says you can go upto 25,000 miles. Can this be true? I am new to Amsoil and would like to know how long to leave it in for.

most people here seem to be changing the filter every 3K, and changing the oil at every 6K or something similar to that. i just change both at 3K. some people have told me that i'm wasting money, some say that it's better that way. i guess i'll keep doing that until i get lazy

as for the 25K...sounds great, but intuitively, it seems a bit much, doesn't it?

Actually the Series 2000 0w-30 you can go 35,000 or 1 year. Look at the oil analisys spreadsheet at the top of the general forumn to see how long oils are holding up. I believe 15k with Amsoil is reasonable with filter changes in between. Amsoil is the best, but you need to decide which is best for your needs. If your gonna change your oil every 3k then I doubt you'll notice a difference in any synthetic oil.

Yes, with a big BUT. Your car won't have a problem with this interval if you drive mostly highway miles and rack them up quickly. Since most people here don't drive under those conditions, 25k is not too realistic. The ultra-conservative drain for it would be 6k miles without any issues. There are people here who run it longer without any issues.

AMSOIL ASL 5W-30 is a 25K miles/1 year oil. If you are getting close to 25K miles per year on your car then I would bet you are doing a lot of highway driving. Chances are most people will hit the 1 year mark before they hit the 25K mile mark.

I change my ASL once per year with the filter change at 6 months. The mileage I change at doesn't matter right now since I am only putting 7500 miles/year on my Max and 12K miles/year on my Ody.
