Still no ignition coils for 2000 Max--help!

My car continues to run like crap, and Nissan dealer has no clue when the ignition coils are coming in. I've checked some of the parts links from this site with the same luck. Next step is try and order from AutoZone, but I'm sure I can find them for less than the 50 bucks apiece their web site shows.

It's pretty damn bad when you have an extended warranty, and can't even use it because of OEM parts backorder

Does anyone have info regarding when these are due in, and are there coils available outside Nissan that I have overlooked? Warranty will not cover a rental car beyond one day, and I fear I am trashing the engine with the rough (but functional) running. If not, I can live with it, I suppose. Advice appreciated!

Thanks

I'm almost positive that not ALL of your ignition coils go at once. At most it's one or two. See if you can figure out which ones are shot. Then replace them your self. $100 and your all set.

e-mail Dave Burnette and see what he says on availability... he may be able to get some more information than your dealer is providing....

Thanks for the replies.

Replacing them myself is what I am now trying to do, but can't seem to find the coils through the links posted here. I didn't check each one, but did check approx. 6, and followed up with phone calls. None had any, either OEM or aftermarket. Is there anyone who can sell or point me to a place where I can order them?

That's part of the frustration--not being able to locate aftermarket coils, because it looks like a pretty easy job. According to the dealer, it's the number one coil, but I would assume replace all of them, or buy one front/one rear since enough have failed to warrant a TSB. This way, I can keep one handy and avoid same hassle in the future.

Just got in 20+ coils this morning- Looks like they're off back order! If anyone need additional details, I'm at 800-251-7278.
