My drive belt had a fight with the SC this morning (pics)

My max turned back to NA this morning...it will stay NA for now untill I install a new b1tch for my blower.

the story...the battery light went on when I got on the freeway. I pulled over and open the hood and the belt was ripped and gang-raped by the pulleys. I was 10 miles away from home and I took my chance to drive back home. Glad the battery didnt go out and I didnt have to push her back.

yup...a 3 month old belt.

I think it got kicked off the pulley first and then got chewed by the crank. hope it didnt mess up the pulleyes.

ah~ the washer.....when Kevin installed the SC, he noticed the bolt that holds the tensioner adjuster plate was too close to the belt (about 1 mm) and he had to cut off the washer with a dremel and file the bolt a bit. Just recently, the same bolt went loose and it was making that cold-idle rattling. (I thought it was the pulleyes or the timing chain) We tighten it back.
This was taken from the other thread, which washer are you referring to? I just took off my blower and dont remember this and what Kevin dremeled. Which of the 3 bolts are we referring to?

that sucks! But since you have to take off the SC and seperate it from the mounting plate, now is the time to upgrade to a smaller pulley or change your other pulleys. No sense in waiting...

In the other thread in the Supercharger forum he said he moved down to a 3.125 pulley while he did this.

this is the bolt that holds the stillen belt adjuster bracket. He looked at it straight down from the top and the belt was running really close to it. He suggested to get a flat Allen bolt to replace it.

I still have Kevin's 2.87

but on the second thought, I want to work on my cat-back and at least dyno-tune her before I drop in a smaller pulley.....

plus, I dunno if my tranny is going to hold the power of 2.87
