So mad, 10 days with out my max now, rant about dealership

Heres the story for all to hear.

The Monday beofre last my cars MAFS went bad on me. I went by my dealership and talked to my freind tere, he ordered me a MAFS. He said to drop the car of Thursday, he said the car would be ready for pick up the next day(friday). I call Friday, he says where to busy today to work on the car and "we will fix it tomarrow". I thought okay, WTH.. I call back that next day(saturday) and I was told "we ordered the wrong MAFS". Uhh ok... He say's call back Tuesday, it will be ready then. I asked them, are you open Tusday because of Xmass eve. He says yes.. I call Tusday, no one was there! WTF.. So now I had to spend my Xmass eve ad X mass day without my car.. I called back Thursday and talk to my "friend". He says htey actually had hte right MAFS all around and that there is only one, htey mixed up the MAFS with the 00-01 TSB. Then they finaly take a look at my car and say it's not the MAFS, the engine code says it's the rear o2 sensor. Says the rear bank is running rich and that it can't be the MAFS. Argh, WTF! I tried to explain to him it's definatly the MAFS. I have experienced this problem before, but he would not listen to me.. He just says he will order the o2 sensor and have it in for the next day (friday). So I call back Friday, he's sick.. So now I have to try deal with the service department, these people have no clue about any of this. I talked them into putting the 02 sensor onto my car, it took a few calls mind you.. I call back and ask if the car is fixed, nope.. The o2 sensor was replaced they said and it was not the problem(duh). A asked if they tried the MAFS yet? He says no, and they are closed for the day now. Says call back Monday cause they are to busy Saturday. My "friend" is stil sick, who knows when he will come back..

So.. Apperently "there to busy" for me.. I mean I've only been with out my car for 10 days now, I guess these other people get prioraty over me. Keep in mind I have spent over $35K at this dealership in the last 2 years, and I am extremly polite. The real irony of this whole story is if they where intelligent enough to jsut listen to me for 3 minutes my car would have been ready the day I droped it off. All they had to do is undo 4 10mm bolts and plug in the new MAFS.. I'm so damn ****ed now it's not even funny.. I don'teven wanna guess how long it will take to get my tranny foixed (been trying for 3 months now).

Maxima91, dont troll in here..

emax95, have you actually seen you car in 10 days? reason I ask is that stories like this are usually proceded by "I went to pick the car and the side was caved in" or "it fell off the lift" or "the parts dept drove it 200 miles".

Never Never NEVER just leave your car there without keeping tabs on it. By the way, you can tell them that you know its the MAF and youre coming to pick up the car and take it to another dealer. They will get on the ball because if they dont close the ticket, they wont get paid from Nissan. They cant keep your car like that.

That's some good advice that I will keep in mind.

I thought you fixed your MAF by cleaning it? Apparently that didn't work? If so, you might want to go back and post to your "K&N filter MAF problem/cleaning" and tell everyone it didn't work.

Dave

I thought I did?

Tim, unfortunatly I have no control over this matter, I have tons of mods. No other dealer will even touch my car. And I have not seen my car since I droped it off. Reason #1 for this taking so long is because I was not even dealing with the service department. The sevice department knows I'm modded.. Instead I have to talk to the owner of the place and he takes his sweet time helping me. I just smile

My bad.

And I agree, there is nothing more frustrating than waiting for simple warranty work and the dealership is incompetent. I ran into this problem with my Z28.....very often.

Dave
Hey Dave. I had the exact same problem with my SS. It burned oil constantly and the dealer kept making me do these oil consumption tests. The same tests with the same results over and over. With much *****ing from me. I think they were trying to wear me down so I would not bring it in anymore. This went on for over a year before they actually did some work. However, I started getting the area reps involved as well as GM headquarters. I finally wound up trading it in for my Max. Which dealer were you having problems with? I was primarily having problems with Henna. But the other dealer on the motor mile (Capitol?) was not much better. It was bar none the worst customer service I have ever been given on a high dollar item. I will NEVER buy another Chevrolet. At least a new one.

On a topic more related to this thread, can you give me an idea of how Town North will react if I bring my Max in for service with the Frankencar intake installed? It is the only engine mod I plan on. I am just getting a little edgy with some of the posts I have seen here.

Lastly, thanks for lending your help to the Town North parts guys trying to figure out what <dead pedal> I was looking for. You had already left work and they called you on your cell. You gave them all kinds of info off the top of your head and my problem was solved. Cheers!

I'm curious to know who "killed" Maxima91's post? Was it Ethan or Tim?

Bad MAF or not, I also wanted to chime in by saying that these stories also proceed by "I dropped my car off and it had this many miles, and when I picked it up 10 days later, it had this many "MORE" miles!"

I'm not worried about them driving my car. On friday I heard them working on my car over the phone. The car kept stalling

And what did maxiam91 say? I did not delete his post.

I made an appt. with Mossy Nissan down the street from my work tomorrow and told my service advisor, "If you guys can't fix the pinging problem, I will be contacting Nissan tomorrow!" They are blaming my Injen CAI for the pinging. This will be the 4th attempt to fix the problem!

Sorry to hear about your ride Ethan...

Hey Ethan, what is wrong with your tranny?

I am still debating if I should go and do that TSB on the clutch noise for 6-speed. I am afraid they can make it worse.

Ok, the car is ready to be picked up now! They put the MAFS in after I talked them into it and suprise, suprise, lol, the car works now. He says the car's idle is still a little rough though, says when the car goes in for the tranny work they need to reprogram the ECU for the new MAFS? Seems odd, I will have to take a look at it
