My 2k2 does the same thing. But, I have noticed if you pound lightly on the face of the cd changer, on about the 3rd or 4th hit, the sound will come back. I really notice it alot on burned cd's.

I am glad it worked for you. I first noticed the peoblem about a month ago, along my 1/4 mile long, uphill, gravel driveway. My left channel kept going out. I would wind up ejecting all 6 cd's then putting them back and it worked. Well, one long trip, I hit a pothole and it went out. Getting ****ed I took my fist and hit the face, and I started working! So, until I can get it to the dealer in that shape (with the left channel not working) I will keep fixing it that way. I was reading another thread where many, many people have similar trouble to the Bose HU. Guess we are in that group now too.
Good Luck!!

You are welcome. I just informed my father-in law about the problem many of us are having with the Bose HU. He has a 2k3 Maxima GLE. He said he'd listen out for the problem. He told me they are having an issue with their sunroof opening out of the blue at sporadic times while driving down the road. Guess I will have to watch out for that one also! :-)
The left speakers going out is getting to be a fairly common problem in the 2k2 and 2k3 Maximas with the Bose system. I'm still waiting for a replacement HU for my Max to come in because of this problem. I'm at 4 weeks and counting. Also you might run into the problem of CDs stopping for a few seconds during playback.
