Anyone hear anything on this? I know they say the 6th gen is supposed to be out sometime in the spring, but brand new designs are often delayed from their original projection. Wondering if the 5th gen's will still be around by the time I'm ready for it?....

if you look in the 6th gen forum, you'll see pics of the car being shot for what looks to be an ad (or a review). I suspect the new gen will be rolling out of TN in a few weeks.

If you are looking for something specific with a 5th gen, its going to get harder. A simple call to the dealer will tell you. Ask them if they can order a max the way you want it. If Nissan wont let them, its time to make a decision.

I saw them. That's what worries me. I think the new one is way too rounded. I don't like it much at all. My dealer already has virtually no 6 speeds left. Haven't talked to them to know if they're getting more though.

I'm not sure how much longer exactly, but if I were you, I'd get moving with the purchase. Some people are having a hard time finding 6 speeds in the past month, so I would suspect that it would be even harder now. Plus, I would think Nissan dealerships will order more automatics during their final bulk orders because they are easier/faster to sell.

Go get one!!

I was at the dealer with a friend and people seem to be picking up the 03's moreso now than I have noticed earlier. He is looking for a Glacier Pearl/auto with a moonroof, but they all seem to have alot of is that Sheer Silver color as an alternative(sales tactic). I dunno if they will have lots of remaining inventory on the 03's by the time the 04's hit, the time is now to act on brand new 03's.

maybe a few months after the 2k4 shows at the autoshows, cause I want to buy a 2k2/2k3 but....just gotta wait for the better time. Like when the 2k4 is at the dealership and they'll try to get rid of the 2k3s that they have left.

Just for grins, I've already had the financing pre-approved. My dealer only has one car right now that is really close to what I want, but it's an auto. SE in Sheer Silver, Titanium Edition, frost cloth interior and sun roof. I was actually thinking lately of getting an auto again anyway. I would love a 6 speed, but my 3rd gen isn't getting any newer and if anything catastrophic every happens to it will I want a manual as a daily driver? No one else in my household would be able to share the driving duties on a vacation if I got a 6 speed also. I wouldn't be modding the daylights out of it like I did on my 3rd gen either. At least not as much as fast. So much to think about...

Update:

I spoke to my dealer on Tuesday and he said that right now they can still get almost any combination and pretty quickly on a special order. I may be ordering by the end of January!

Spoke with my dealer today he said what maxmixd dealer said but he did say that they dont plan on having lots of inventory of 03's whenthe 04's hit. My dealer now has very few and will not be ordering lots more, he also said by Late Jan-Feb if you have not placed an order you will be pretty much stuck with whats on the lot currently. Also they are already doing great deals on these cars, so dont expect them to drop a whole lot because according to him the are stratagizing the changeover so that they will have minimal inventory remaining this time.
