based on hte fact the 2001 5spd GXE and the Acura CL-S can run simular 1/4 mile times.. @ 14.8
that would make your car a 13 second car for sure.. ither that or he was running on 4 spark plugs

This is similar to a post that was made on our local Texas Racing board. This guy with a B16 said he saw a WRX with and described it headed back from San Marcus. He said he beat it by 2 cars! Well, the only WRX at that time was the guy I was drivng back with and following. He didn't race a car at all. ! This guy in the WRX I have knwon for a few years, he runs 12.8 at 105. And this guy with a B16 CRX thinks he can beat it. lol!

it all depends, as stated, on who dropped to full throttle first .. no one is gaining on anyone at that point...

I see the confusion. He said tailgating, which implies the the CL was right behind him. Then he said the CL was 10 cars back. He seems to suggest that he put 10 cars, but I'm guessing that the CL was tailing him from several cars back. This makes me wonder,then, when a car is 10 cars back, how the hell do you know what it is?? I mean, 10 cars back, you can't tell if it's a CL-type S, a CL type regular, or even a TL. The only way you can tell exactly which car he raced was if he saw the guys taillights.

...in red above...is were he says the CL Type-S was TAILGATING him....he even says it's a dark blue one.
so this alone ruins your theory that he started out 10 car lengths behind...dude says he's being tailgated...by a dark blue CL-S...
then in blue he says he dumped it in 3rd, and suggested he was pulling away from the CL-S...which he said a second ago was tailgating him...so he is starting to pull away with the blue highlighted statement.
why would anyone post about beating a car that was already 10 car lengths behind?
in pink is where he says the guyed tried to keep up...this is where Y2KMaxGXE-R suggests he is pulling away from a CL Type-S.
In green is where he says just how far he pulled away....10 car lenghts...after the dude was tailgating him...
1badmax, may I suggest you read over this, and the original post about 10-15 times before responding...to keep yourself from sounding like an...
Dude never said "I pulled 10 car lengths ahead of him" but if you started out with him tailgating you, and ended up 10 car lengths ahead of him, then he sure is suggesting it...or saying it, but just wording it different.
if that doesn't help you understand, I don't know what to tell you. But dude didn't start 10 car lengths ahead.

Even my wife pulled four car lengths on me in her Sentra SE-R before I realized she was trying to run (I only down shifted to 4th at 60). But easily if someone is unsuspecting, or too lazy to downshift or floor it, it can happen.

But we all realize that people can pull several car lengths even with a Geo Metro, if the other person is:
A) Not Trying
AND/OR
B} Unsuspecting

with all the power this car has, I really need to get a better handling suspension...it was good enough for my 4th Gen 1998 Max, but I feel like the suspension can't keep up with the engine on my 2k3...
