Parking and HID theft Prevention

Parking and HID theft Prevention
Ok, I know there's been alot of HID Theft threads circulating around, but this one has to do with parking and HID Theft Prevention. For those of you 02 and 03 owners out there who have garages, but can't park your max in there for whatever reason (i.e full of junk, etc) do any of you guys park your max up close in front of the garage door? I was thinkin about this the other day, and as I've seen how they steal HID's by pulling the grill, snipping the alarm wires, opening the hood, and pulling out the HID's, I'm wondering if maybe this would at least block them or slow them down from stealing your HID's at night?
Considering they have no room to work with by pulling the front grill out, I figured this might slow them down? I don't know, any opinions??

that sounds like a good idea if you really look at it. Not just at home, even at parking malls or parking lots, Park butt close the car infront of you, or park infront of a wall in the mall. You can't pull if you can't reach to grab

Good idea. I had been parking close to the garage at first, then I just decided to clean it out so I can park it in there.

Also, when we go to a OUTSIDE parking lot (at a mall or something), especially during the day, we make a conscious effort to back in and have the lights facing out. I think when the car is facing out, there is too much public eye for them to do anything (indoor parking lot is different). I think when the lights are facing in, it could be dangerous because if there are two van or something bigger blocking the view of the sides of the car, it's impossible to tell what's going on with the front of the car.
I love how everyone is trying to figure this ridiculous thing out!!!

Actually, when I got my max, and after learning about all the theft, I spent three days cleaning out my garage. Before that, my fiance and I stayed up looking at the car. But there is no security better than having it in your own garage.

HID Theft has gotten me nervous as well, I always make sure when going to malls that I park the car facing out and as close to a door or a place where people come out from as possible. During the night I park the car rear ending my mom's Altima almost. Lately I haven't even taken my car to malls, I just take my moms car to avoid being worried while shopping.

I do have a garage but when I'm out I park head on very close. I figured it would be a good idea so I'm glad someone agrees. However, I don't know if it would stop someone from trying to steal them - perhaps causing more damage (ie: foot dents on your hood).
Oh, for those of you how have a garage and don't park in it:
Do you know how many people would KILL to have one??? When I moved into my house, the crazy people before me had a huge closet built into the garage as well as a work bench. I got in there with a saws-all before I moved in so I could use it for my car!

I thought about the foot dents on the hood, but the way I see it, they'd have to climb on top of the hood, and at that point, shouldn't the shock sensor detect that and set off the alarm?? Even if it didn't go off, they'd have to work somewhat-upside down to get the grill off, find and snip the right alarm wires, then get off the hood again to open it, and finally pull the HID's out. A pro and determined thief would get the job done, but the novices and amateurs might give up. Grant it, I'm not big on the foot dents either, but what else is there? Of course, there's always picking the door lock..
........*sigh*
