Help getting TSB problems fixed
Help getting TSB problems fixed
I live in Dallas. I have a 2000 Maxima GLE.
I have identified a list of about eight problems with my Maxima that have a TSB.
I went to my dealer (Trophy) with my list of problems.
So far they have told me:
I do not have to TCM problem (NTB00-093A), even though my vehicle falls in the VIN range of vehicles that are known to have the problem.
They agreed I have the brake rotor problem (NTB00-016), but feel that is normal wear and tear - although now they appear to be willing to cut the rotors at no charge.
They can't hear the noise from the rear window (NTB01-029) - they claim they drove the car - but the Service Advisor admitted he never drove it - they want me to return to the dealership and shown then the wind noise - not sure how I can do that.
The bumper scratch issue may be resolved (NTB00-055)- intially the service advisor claimed it was from a rear end collision (?) - after I called the service manager he seemed to think it could be resolved.
I have had the blower motor replaced twice (NTB99-017A)- still making that annoying humming sound - service advisor has bad hearing (so he says), but he said technician could not hear it.
They are relubricating the front window glides (NTB01-054).
I also have rattles near the glove compartment - they won't even look into that. "Rattles are to be expected on a 3 year old vehicle".
So - it looks like almost half the problems will be addressed - but not the biggest problem - the transmission.
I called Nissan USA and they suggested I take it to another dealer.
Anyone have suggestions on how to demonstrate the TCM problem or know a better service department in the Dallas area.
This is really frustrating - first Nissan I ahve ever owned - probbaly the last. I chose the Maxima over the Acura TL - I have a friend with the TL - he never has these annoying little noises or problems with dealer - the money I saved on the Maxima does not even come close to offsetting the frustration with the second rate manufacturing and materials Nissan puts into what used to be their flagship vehicle.

Re: Help getting TSB problems fixed
I would stay away from Trophy, the service people there don't give a shiit. Trust me I've had bad experiences there. I would try Bankston Dallas (preston/LBJ) (call Tim Di ck. Asst service manager), they seem to care over there.
