2000 & 2001 Maxima STOCK dyno results?? STOCK

just curious, what were common dyno results from the Stock "222hp" and "227hp" 3.0L engines?

BTW I did a search, results were horrible...

What results are you referring to as "horrible"? I think the 2000-01 were not underrated. There aren't many dynos of stock cars but Russ got 185hp/193tq from his stock 01, which is in line with 15% powertrain loss.

I think Russ actualy got 182 WHP, I think that was a little low.

well, they were rated at 222, with the new ones being rated at 255, there should be ~30 more hp in the 2k3 dynos...errr 212hp....
Now that I've seen this, I really think we have a good case.

I put down 173.6 hp, and 173.4 Ft/Lbs. about 2 months ago. Stock 2001 se. I will re-dyno in the spring after I do my custom catback, udp, and have already installed a warpspeed Y-pipe.

Have fun!

VQMan:

I was at MC Racing when Russ dynoed his bonestock 2001 5 speed SE. He put down 183fwhp and 191fwtq. This should be a good comparo because his 2001 had low miles and he did his runs on the same dyno you and I use.

SO, we're looking at a 17% drivetrain loss for the 2000-2001 5 speed. For your car, you're looking at a 20% loss (I think Nissan fudged the numbers a little). Do keep in mind that the 2000+ Maximas are running tire/wheel combos that weigh ~10lbs more than the 4th gen 15" SE rims. 10lbs of extra rotational mass can be seen on the dyno.

what about the guys with 1997+ 4th Gens...they had 16's...but I can see how there is a 10lbs difference...what we need to find, is an Altima owner in the area that will dyno at MC Racing...

but we'd have to make sure they had 17's....

I really should just wait and see what happens w/philadephia experiment...they are trying to get a volunteer to pull his engine there...I don't know if anyone has taken them up on the offer...

when is the KCIR gathering of the Maxes?

That is way too low. I dynoed the car recently and got 183whp but that was modded.

My car was bone stock and done at a Maxima meet in Maryland on a Dynojet. http://paulwendy.com/maxima/pauldyno.jpg

(other Cali Spec Cars)
170.1 Bryan 2000 SE, manual, no mods
182.0 Mike, 2000 SE, manual, Stillen intake

Later I got 169 with a popcharger. At a later meet other people with the similar setup dyno'd around the same HP. (within 1 HP of mine.) What mods do you have?

My best ET with this car was 15.47. Usually it ran a 15.8 though.

When I did the dyno had a prcai, udp, ypipe, testpipe, exhaust,
I did it for the baseline before I put the supercharger on.

Just disappointing to see all this crap about what a Ypipe gives and all this nonsense, seems exaggerated. All the mods I only 22hp more at the crank if you use the 25% drivetrain loss. 183/.75=244hp.

Even then I got one of the highest #s of same modded auto. Kev got 181.5wp and only 171 lbs.
