It has been two weeks since I have re-greased my starter. So far I have no heard the sound at all. It seemed to have worked. But then again I only got the sound intermittently, not all the time.

Look here for instructions on starter removal, re-lube, and installation.

Hope it works for the rest of your guys!

mine is the same noise, well used to be. but mine was a little longer noise. when you first start it, like in the morning. it makes that whining noise, mine hits up to 2k and drops down to like 1200 rpm. and its usually slow, and that whole time is whining. but once its idle. its okay. it has been doing that for awhile. but now its okay i think. or maybe im just used to it. but it wasn't as loud anymore. thats when i started to drive less aggressively, thats how the noise went down. thats from my experience. i dunno. and that relubing and stuff.. mannn you lost me. i thought it was the crank or something, not the starter. but what do i know!!

Go back to the beginning of the thread and read through each post. Then listen to the sound file that cwally put up. If it's that same sound that you have, then you probably need to re-lube the starter.
