NEEDED: STOCK 2k2 In Philly area
Ok folks, we're still working on the 15hp sueing nissan thing and we need a stock 2002 maxima in the philadelphia area to volunteer to have their engine pulled and tested. if you are interested let me know. PLEASE.
I am from the NE Philly area and have a 2k2 6sp. I would be willing to consider offering up my car for this, but I would not to have the time until the end of January (too much work) unless it can be done on a Sunday. Let me know what this entails!

does the engine have to have all service records up to date?
shouldn't they also have always used 91 octane?
or would filling the tank with 91 octane for the dyno suffice?
we should take up an "offering" to whoever lets them discect there car...I'm in...but I want to see digital photos posted of the engine extraction...I have been debating volunteering my car...but I'm 1000 miles away from Philly...and I don't know if it's worth the risk of screwing up my car...I say we (org members) offer some money to whoever does it...

Hell they may already have guys that are "fanatics" "living in his maxima down by the river" or whatever...that can be in with Nissan...this is very unlikely...but it's something to think about...
john, get your lawyer out to Kansas...have him bring his lady...we'll show 'em a good time for a day or two, get a stock engine dyno'd...maybe he'll bring your sorry **** back some of the countries best bbq...BIG 12 country...scary...
and $500 is a drop in the bucket for a lawyer...

the person who VOLUNTEERS will not have to pay for the dyno, but they will also be a VOLUNTEER. which means that we will not pay you, if we can't find someone who is willing to VOLUNTEER that is a semi-known member within the next couple weeks i might have to take my mods off my car which i really really don't want to do.
dsager-if you are willing please email me and i can put you in contact with the lawyer and you two can work out a time. steve@frankencar.com
also it will be done by some of the best professional's in their fields and you should have no problems whatsoever with the car afterwards, it would just be like you got your engine replaced due to an incident, it's a big process but usually snag free.
and the dyno will happen in the philly area because there must be automotive engineers there and to get them to travel would be exorbinently expensive.

I have a 2002 Maxima SE 6-spd with 11k miles purchased July 5, 02. I have run only 93 octane gas through the vehicle, all but 3 fillups were done at the same station. Oil has been changed at 3k mile intervals and I use factory filters with Mobil 1 10w30. My car is currently modded with an underdrive pulley and Frankencar intake but I do have all the original parts to return it to stock and can do so with no hassle. Warranty history consists of the basic minor nuisances with the transverse link recall, nothing at all with the powertrain. My job position is a service advisor at a Nissan dealership, I have been around the org since September'ish.
Would any of this disqualify my vehicle for the test?

Sorry guyz...
Seriously, I just wanted to give a sincere thanks to everyone working hard on this issue, especially certain individuals. (You know who you are) I think most of us would agree that we are all very appreciative and respect all the hard work being done.

thanks for your interest in helping us out unfortunately i'm sure the lawyer would have the same concerns that i have, you work for nissan, and we all know nissan is the devil. thanks for the offer though.

Joking aside, I understand that the engine out dyno is probably a one shot only deal and you don't want to risk anything. I understand that my risk would be possible loss of warranty and, if they would stoop that low, troubles on the job if the connection is made. My heart is in the right place, I just want my full 255 horsepower like everyone else.
The offer will remain just in case noone else steps up.
