PR CAI Dyno Results

Hey. I've finally gotten the Max dyno'd. The results of the PR CAI were as follows.

HP was increased +4 HP.
Torque was increased +20 ft/lbs.

How this happened? I dunno. I don't have the stock dynos available anymore, so I can't post the actual dynos for the stock run, but you can compare them with other runs just for a rough guestimate.

Results from the best of 3 runs:
Max HP = 209.89 @ 5000 RPM (SAE Adjusted)
Max Torque = 238.13 ft/lbs @ 3350 RPM (SAE Adjusted)
Temperature = 74.3 °F
Barometric Pressure = 29.92-0.39 in.Hg.
Altitude = 96 ft
Correction Factor = 0.99
DynoJet Model = 248E

Edit: The numbers have been adjusted slightly as I now have the results rounded to the nearest hundredth instead of tenth.

Are you sure you stated the RPM's correctly? Peak HP is at 5000 and peak tourqe is at 3000 I hope. Peak HP at 3000 is not right.

That's a ton of torque!!!

It is surprising how flat HP stays from 5000-6100rpms and then falls off like an anvil.

KL99SEA: Dislexia kicked in. I've fixed the numbers. Sorry about that.

Maximam: How is what?

The numbers are stated based on the dyno. I was very shocked to see the results as well. I thought that the HP was going to be higher than it was, and didn't think that the Torque was going to be as high. I think I may call PR and see if their dyno resulted in the same increase in torque. +20 ft/lbs of torque is a HUGE gain for just having a CAI and a Muffler. I'm also investigating other mufflers and cat-backs to see if there would be more gains there.

That big of a torque gain from just a muffler/intake?

Maximam/VQMAN: To be honest, I don't know. I've got a call in to Place Racing to see if they yeilded the same gains as I did. If they didn't, then I don't know how to explain it. I do know this... I have a 2002 SE with the MAF from a 2003 SE. That could be part of the equation... but I'm not sure. The results were as much a shock to me as they are to you.

if that's a normal gain, I might break down and buy one...
