The new Z car sounds incredible on paper ( 300hp+...priced under $30K). If this car is everything it is cracked up to be...would you give up your sport sedan for a real sports car??.

Given that choice I would rather have a low mileage Supra TT and 2-3k in mods.

If I had to get a Z-Car, and I had 30K, I would by a 90's Turbo and a mid-80's for the winter months... something I wouldn't mind messing up.

U boys are being negative now. ANTI NISSAN is no good. see the point about the Supra TT though, car does look good on paper but I'm gonna be a family man soon and my modding days will be pritty much over and the Z won't have room for a car seat if U know what I mean.

Hehe...I would save up the money and get the new Z in addition to the Max. The two are completely different cars.

since no one else will respond with a straight forward answer. YES i will. It's one of the reasons why i bought my maxima (3rd reason to be exact). My Maxima will be traded in on the rumoured new Z or the rumoured new Supra. I am a toyota lover by heart...and an ex-supra owner.

I'll just save my money

For the new R35 Skyline 3.0L Turbo 400HP or the new Q45 4.5L 330hp engine.

I gave up a Z car (280ZX) for a Maxima when I got married and had a few kids. Now I can't go back.

Answering my own question....

I would LOVE to own a sports car again (especially the Z), but realistically it is not practical, unless it was used as a 3rd car. I don't think that I would consider a sport car until my kids were MUCH older. There are so many incredible sport sedans out there (including the Maxima) that I will continue to get my thrills from 4 doors.

I'd keep my car... because I'm happy with it for now.

Exactly. The new 300Z is flat out butt ugly IMHO. Save up a little more and get a real car from Nissan if it ever gets on our shores. That or buy a used one from MotoRex.

my 2 centz

I was mad about the 2001 coming out after I bought my max.. Now.. the Z is a straight up sports car...can't compare the 2.. The reason why I bought my max was because I like to keep it low key... cops won't look to bother a car an older person would drive..one of the reasons i refuse to tint my windows..For me to have a a Z i would have to keep my max... which would me I would have to get a 50k raise

Ohh and if Nissan actually comes out with fuqing altimas phatter than my max.. im just going to be disturbed.....but that's just my 2 cents..

If it looks like the pictures recently released and the interior stays close to as shown and they are priced at or under 30k. I think I'd do it. I've been wanting an S4... but that Z car is just badass to me. Although I did see something scary in it. Whats up with the auto tranny!? I don't want this to be another car that I can only find in auto.

I think I will be ditching the Max if the new Z comes in at $30k. I like the look, and miss rear wheel drive.

It's going to have a 6 speed as well as the 5 speed auto shown in the pix, that's will get.
