I just purchased my new MAX and would love to install the AE shifter. Has anyone done this already? I know there is some cutting with the 2k's, but does the same hold true for the 2K1's? This forum rocks, thanks for all the valuable information.

I contacted Southpoint Nissan about getting an AE shifter, but they said that they are still having problems with the fitting of the shifter on non-AE models. I guess they are trying to fix this problem, but not sure.

 

I would assume that the shifter assembly is the same for the 2K and 2K1 models, with the exception of the AE of course, but don't take my word for it. I know that Dave Burnette from Southpoint is still awaiting the shifter assembly to come in so that he can find a way to install the AE shifter into other models. From what I've read previously though, it sounds like quite an undertaking. I know another user tried to install one, and got pretty far, but I don't think he completed the job fully.
