Hesitation revisited?

I know this has been discussed a million times, but I searched and didn't find an answer. Coming home from work this afternoon my car all of a sudden just wouldn't go. I could mash on the gas but the car struggled like hell over 3k rpm and very loud groning as if the car was struggling to get air. I stopped and looked under the hood to make sure nothing had come loose and everything was fine. I got lunch came out and went on my way and the car is running just like normal. What gives?

I've had bad gas before and this was totally different. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say my 1987 Hyundai Excel would've beat me to 60mph!

-seems like your MAF is dying (I hope it's not for your sake!). I would try taking the MAF off and dry clean it a w/a Q-tip. I did that before I installed my aftermarket intake, recently (from http://www.firmfabrications.com )and noticed some dirts accumalated on the resistor.

-Do you ever wonder if it's possible that condensation can be formed inside your intake's piping? A combination of metal/rubber piping/couplers can perhaps create condensation in changing temperatures?

I'd venture to say MAF sensor as well. The sensor could definitely have an intermittent problem, and not fail completely.
