Brake is having problem again

I currently have 25000 miles on my 2k2 maxima. I already had the rotor resurfaced once @ local nissan dealer which cost like $100.00 And about 10k later, whenever I brake my car would shake pretty bad. Is there a way to permanently put an end to this? thanks

Get performance rotors. Cost 100-200 for the fronts. www.raceconcepts.net is the cheaper place. grzone.com is another that sells stillen ones.

And avoid washing your car immediately after driving or going through a car wash, more specifically... Do not spray water into the wheels and onto the rotors.
I bought raceconcepts slotted rotors this summer. I braked carefully never heated them up, never approached fade conditions, just normal city and freeway driving. The only thing I have a tendency to do is wash the wheels after driving, because I hate dirty looking wheels. And in my experience, I think this causes the rotors to warp just enough to make the brakes pulse & judder (on my Max).

I went through this with my Talon. I upgraded to 12" rotors on that and they are awesome. I think the 2k2 and 2k3 max comes with 12: though already.

I got Powerslot rotors with the kit on my talon. I have about 12k on them in 10 months. THey are like silk from any speed. Best rotors I have ever had. They are slotted which I was concerned about but it hasn't caused any problems. I also put on SS brake lines at the time. I didn't realize how much the SS lines helped until I got my 03 max. The SS lines make a notciable differnece.

Before that I tried brembo blanks. I didnt'even x-drill 'em and they warped in under 12k.

I have a feeling that the grade of steel used in rotors makes a big difference.

The last thing you want to do is have anything x-drilled. That will look purdy but it will shorten the life.

The problem withg cutting is that the more material removed, the more prone to warping they are.

I'm in the same boat as you. As soon as I drove my MAx off the lot I could tell the rotors weren't true. IN under 150 miles the steering wheel started to shake. I'm fighting with them now because they want to cut, and I say they are smoking pot if they think I'm settling for that on a brand new car that warped the rotors in under 150 miles.

The service manager siad the car sat for a while and the rotors rusted bad, that would contribute to it. But how they are making this my problem is beyond me.

The cheapest thing to do would be for them to spring for a set of Powerslots and let me put them on. I'd be more than willing and it would make me a very satisfied customer.
