Installing Apexi Rev Speed Meter: PLEASE HELP.

I bought an Apexi Rev Speed Meter that I want to install tonight on my 2k maxima gle, but I am confused about the wiring diagram and I don’t want to mess this up. The application chart for Nissans doesn’t have the north american names. The Cefiro and the Cefiro wagon seem to be the only cars with VQ30DE engines and the ECU behind the center console (it is behind the center console, right?). Also, there doesn’t seem to be any diagram for year 2000 cars; the cefiro wagon has a VQ30DE year ’97.1-’99.7, is that the one? The wiring diagram is either N6-a or N4-a, I guess.

Could someone help me out? I really want to do this tonight. Thanks in advance.

Sweet, thanks Y2KevSE. I have the glove box and pannel out but the ecu is way in there behind a bunch of metal. How do i get the ecu out? Can i just pull the harness, connect the rsm, and put it back on without removing the ecu?

You're welcome.

Don't pull the ECU out because you're going to have a hard time putting it back in. Just take off the harness and start splicing from there. Good luck!

Ah yes i see. I'm supposed to use diagram #2 in the manual to cut the speed limiter which uses only 5 wires, right? So i just disregard the extras?

Use only what the RSM instructions say to use. I combined the RSM and AFC installs on that document.
