I can't tell you how good it sounds (my opinion)!! It gives the car a nice low end growl and it does not get louder as the rpm's go up which I love. Resonator was left on.
I will have to get pictures because I went with a dual exit 3" single wall tip, different than most others have gone with to this point.

Other than looks and sound, any benefits? Faster? Better fuel economy? How much does this conversio0n cost? Can you do it yourself?

DOUBLEA, how are you planning on getting the whole muffler on the other side? Cutting the well?

Maybe I'll put 2 PT muffler like the one we have, if there is enough room.

I'm not going to make a fake dual exhaust I want the real stuff, a dual dual, if you know what I mean, in an ideal situation I'd like to split starting after the main cat, making a Y at the end of the main cats then running 2 x 2.25 or 2.5" piping, whatever's best + 2 small diameter resonators so it can be install side to side until it split for the 2 mufflers, this is my plan, but I'm shure after going under I'll get some surprise. Idealistically, I'd like to build it SS all the way, but maybe I'll make the prototype with standard piping and have a SS piping done after, it's very cheap in term of cost to build mendrel bent with standard material. Let me know what you think, if I can get a clear picture of underneath the car that would help me plan it. I want to be the first one to succesfully build a real dual muff apps for a 5th gen max. A little ambitious project but I like challenge so I think it will be all fun to do.

Hey 2002Maxxxima, thanks for the 2004 max pics, as shown on the picture we see much less restriction in the exhaust piping of the 2K4, they probably got few HP. That's about the way I want to build my dual exhaust set-up on my 2K1, I know I will have to cut in the spare tire room, but shaving a few pounds only look good to me, I will keep you posted as soon as the weather can allow for outside work.

I haven't really been underneath my 5th gen, but couldn't you mount two smaller mufflers back in there and just run two pipes out to the back? I guess what I am saying is, does the muffler have to be right there on the edge of the bumper? Maybe something like a Mustang? Dunno, just askin'.

Yeah, stereo replacement doesn't look too fun. I'd leave it and mount a new unit in the console or something. Everything is just too integrated on the '04.
