03 MAF came stock on my 02!!

After reading studman's thread from 9/9/02, I checked the part number on my MAF. My 2K2 was built with the 03 MAF! Needless to say, I'm really happy about this.

I hadn't installed an intake because of issues with the 02 MAF. I'm not as worried about it now, cause the 03's are supposedly less prone to failure.

Anybody else notice an 03 MAF on their 02??

Part #

for the 03 MAF is 22680 AM600. The number is located on the front side of the MAF pipe below the sensor. It's kinda hard to see, csuse there's not much room there.

What was the build date on your car? It should be on the sticker in the doorjam.

My build date

was late...March 2002. Maybe that has something to do with it?? My purchase date was late August, 2002.

Sounds like the eleged 03 MAFS is actually a 02 MAFS, you have it backwards. BTW 03 MAFS are not any better then 02 MAFS, mine broke 2 days after I put it on..
