The Maxima has been a HUGE theft target ever since the 2G Maxima (mainly the 87-88 model) hit the market. To this day, I wouldnt even park an 87 Max SE (let alone my 2k2) in ANY of the outer boroughs or uptown; and I was raised in the Bronx and Harlem.

Let me clarify my last post. In NEW YORK, the Maxima has always been a big theft target. I'm not certain about other areas of the country.

But particularly when the 1987 Max came out, those were HOT theft items in New York.

Man, I feel for you NYC guys with Maximas. You shouldn't have to, first of all find a place to park in that crazy city and then worry about some scumbag jacking your $hit.

I guess there's that give and take you have to put up with living in the world's greatest city

Yeah but do you remember the 87 Maxima is essentially the car that put maximas on the map? And, they were mostly owned by lets say not so friendly people who made lots of street $$. Most thieves were afraid of stealing maximas then coz they know they might get shot!
