grab your camera and get a picture to give to the cops....might get damage to the car but at least you'll catch the b*st*rds!

If they are kids, how are that really good? I doubt they scout a Maxima days in advance. They probably see one, look around and attack it.

Shooting them in the knees won't kill them.

Ya probably because they are mostly losers who couldn't even afford a gun, but maybe a knife or something.
Ya you would know!! Dude guys with cash jack HIDS. Just because you have you "$22,000" has nothing to do with you possibly stealing and definitely selling stolen HIDS.

Of course it does. It is a proven fact someone with a $22,000 car has plenty of money, and would find it risky and stupid to steal headlights when they can afford them in the first place. That is common sense right there. If I knew anything was stolen that I had in my possession, I wouldn't have it, period! If you knew anything about me, you would know I am nothing like that.

The game is up already. Jeez! That is one of lamest things I have ever read on an automotive forum. Someone steals the lights so they can make an extra $400-$600 per pair. Do five to ten of those jobs a week and your rolling hard as long as you don't get caught. Now you wouldn't want that now would you? Read through the reponses in this thread so if you thinking of doing the jacking yourself and getting rid of your "supplier" expect a lot ****ed people coming down on you if you do get your dumb *** caught!

I agree with one of the earlier posts that I don't know how I would react. I keep to myself for the most part but I have a raging temper. I seem to yell about once a week on the train because people don't understand that they should be quite and keep to themselves.

One time when I was crossing the street in NYC going from one building to another this guy bumped into me I beleive because I was not looking forward (I was checking out a chick ). Anyway, I said excuse me (still not looking at the guy) and started on my way and the guy says "You gotta watch wear the f*** you are going" and puts both hands on my chest and shoves me! Well, next thing I knew I launched the guy about 10 feet and knocked him to the ground. I didn't even realize I did it because it happened so fast. The guy started to say some more sh^it but once I "Put up my dukes" he decided to back off. He was very lucky that I was at work because if that happened anywhere else I would have beat the guy to death.

So, I'm not sure how I would react if I saw someone stealing my HIDs but I can't imagine it would be pretty!

Oh, on a side note when I was in High School my Business Law teacher was talking about the laws in Texas. It seemed that if someone stepped foot on your property you had the right to shoot them. Then he started to tell us stories of how people would have disputes for years and call the other person up and say "Why don't you come over so we can work this out?". Then when the other person would step foot on his property...BANG!

I love that about TX, NY is too f'in liberal!

NY is WAAAYYY too liberal. The laws between Texas and NY are very differential. Texas is basically way to the right with laws with less strict rules on guns, executions, etc. New York is way to the left with much stricter laws on self defense, guns and executions.

Er - what? Dude, don't know anything about you, and have no idea if you're stealing HIDs or not. But this logic is a bit flawed, don't you think? So basically you're saying that anyone with a car worth $22,000 or more doesn't steal or break the law (and BTW, shame on all you $21k car guys who are thieves )?

So presumably the drug dealers who are driving $100k Mercedes and Porsches are REALLY honest...

What would I do? Call 911 and hope to hell no one scared the thieves away until the cops came. Scaring them away means they get in their stolen car and get away. Confronting them means they all attack me and I get beat up over a couple of headlights.

OR, I get a few good punches in, and they get me charged with assault, or sue me for lost "work" while they recover. It isn't worth it. The Max is a piece of metal that gets me around town. It isn't anything that's not replaceable.

Imagine that you get hurt during this defense of your car. It's a brain injury - you got smacked in the head. Your parents will have to take care of you for the rest of their lives. For headlights.

Of course they break the law, but it is a less percentage. It is even a lower percentage for anyone to steal headlights who have a car worth that much and have plenty of money. Yes, the payoff is good but if you get caught, the consequences would be devastating. That is why little punk kids steal them is because they have nothing to lose. Any half intelligent person would know since they are getting stolen like crazy, Nissan and the Insurance companies would probably make you pay a certain percantage of their losses, court fees, lawyer fees and one if not more than one felony. Lights are not worth that to a half sane person. But about drug dealers, they may be honest, maybe not honest. But they are innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law, yes.
