A Car Hit My Maxima...Slightly

So I was walking to my car with my girlfriend after diner the other night. I must have been no more than about 50 feet away when this old piece of crap car was parallel parking in front of my car. As it’s easing in to the spot the car slightly taps my front bumper loud enough for me to hear it form the distance I was away from it. When I got up to my car I looked to see if there was any damage, luckily there was none. Probably because the car only tapped the license plate holder. So just for kicks I went up to the culprit in the drivers seat and they rolled down their window for me. It was a young girl probably like 18. I said to her with anticipation of her reply “Did you just hit my car?” She says in an obvious acted shock “No, I don’t think so.” I knew there was no damage and there really wasn’t anything I could do about it so I said, “OK, I thought that you might have.” It’s amazing how people lie through their teeth. Just needed to vent.

Luckily there was no damage. I had somethin similiar happen to me when I was sitting in my car. A truck pulled in next to me and the passenger got out and hit my car with his door. I got out and looked at my car, no damage, then looked at him and all he said was "what". ****ed me off pretty bad, but no real damage so no big deal.

haha, maybe she didn't hear herself hitting your car? A couple months ago I was driving my mom's suburban when a huge UHaul truck merged into me totally f**king up the door, mirror, hood, and fender. The guy never pulled over to the side of the road even after i FLOORED it after him to tell him to pull over. He told the cops the reason why he didnt pull over was because he didnt know he hit me...And I get a ticket for doing 38-40 in a 30.

i had some dude at a red light behind me just decide to go for no apparent reason. luckily he was so close he couldt go fast in his pos buick and didnt leave any damage. when i go him to pull over.. he goes.. "did i hit your moms car?" i was furious by that statement, i said no. then i said just go home.

yes, this is similar for me, except i hit some lady in her POS 93 eclipse and now I'm being sued for 'damages' from getting into a car accident at 2 mph, no damage to either car. My life is soo sweet right now, can you feel it?

Luckily, no one has been foolish enough to hit my Maxima. I used to drive a 1964 Ford Falcon, and I got rear-ended at a light by a '92 Sentra. At first I thought I had stalled out, but as I looked up into my rear-view mirror, I saw the Sentra hood all folded up. I got out, looked at my bumper, and saw no damage, then I looked at his car, and he'd crushed the front end up to the wheels! Amazing!

My 95 Talon was totalled this past friday by a tractor trailer merging into my lane in stopped traffic. I was compeltely stopped of course, she was coming from a lane that ended

She actually asked the state trooper to write me a ticket for "reckelss" driving for "squeezing her out", right in front of me. She said she wasn't moving. I just kept my mouth shut because the damage to the car was obvious I was hit from behind. I hope she gets fired if the investigation goes my way, judging from what I saw, she shouldn't have been driving 18 wheelers.

Yes, I'm amazed by how much people will lie, cheat and steal, it's something I would never do so I'm shocked.

Thank God I have collision insurance on the car. I almost dropped it when I got the max to save on my premiums.

2 Problems here:

1.) The words "She" and "driving 18 wheelers" belong NOWHERE near each other.

2.) Did you pay cash for your Max? If not then you HAVE to have both comp and collision on it. You can set your deductibles sky high to avoid high premiums, but you have to carry it if you have a lienholder.

Well...at least you guys were hit by SOMEONE else...a WHILE back (like around the same time my ex girlfriend keyed the hell outta my car) i was backing my dads 2000 intrepid out of the driveway so i could pull my car up to wash it, well anyway my dumb *** backed up right into the front driver side of my max! I didnt even realize it was back there until i hear and feel this BUMP, then i look back, and well pretty much kicked my own *** for backing into my car with a POS Intrepid! Talk about somebody feelin stupid...it scraped up the bumpers pretty good on both cars...Man i was ****ed and felt dumb as hell at the same time....but all thats fixed now so its all good

LOL, I've been thinking the same thing since it happened. SHe had no clue what was around her. scary.

I didn't know that about the collision. THe talon's been paid for but I financed the whole 9 yards on the max 'cause of the 2.9%. I kept collision at $250 deductible. I get the final word on it today if it's totaled. The price to fix it is like $300 over the threshold. The car is valued at 6k, they want 4.3k to fix. So I would walk with 6k. I have a lot of mods in it though, I kept all the stock stuff so I'll just take 'em all off and sell. I want to keep the car though, it's awesome having a beater.

Hmmm.. Yeah, your car will probably be a total. I'm an insurance claim rep in a total loss unit (there right now) and at 72%, they'd be crazy not to total it. Good luck though, sometimes on those borderline ones, you can get lucky. Just depends on what sort of suppliment you may be looking at.

Well after getting a gun pulled on us on saturday night, my friends and i go to hardees for a little a late night grub. We're sittin in line in my buddy's explorer and the dude behind us in line just hits us. We get out, and there's no damage. We look at the dude and he says (i'm not kidding) "awwe man, charge it to da game dog".

Yea can't see'em not totaling it. But he can still keep the car with a total title right? Then he can either fix what he wants to on his own or take off his mods and part out the car for more cash.

Yeah, that's definitely an option here in Georgia. I don't know about where he is from. In GA you get the ACV for your vehicle, minus it's salvage value. After that you must surrender your tag, title and vehicle registration to the State. They will then cancel them all *at which point you can't drive your car on any public roads* and you will be issued a salvage title. You then have your vehicle repaired and inspected by the state. If it passes inspection, then you can apply for a new title. YAY! Insurance is FUN!

Thanks for the help!

I'm really bummed, I hope it doesn't end up totalled because the car is fixable. New door, new front fender, and a rear quarter clip. + paint.

I'm thinking maybe 32 hours? so that's like $1500 labor (state farm will go as high as $44 at their designated repair facilities).

Parts couldn't more than $1500... I'm wondering where the body shop came up with their numbers.

Since you're in the biz, here's a pic of the damage, do ya think this will help prove liability? The truck driver is lying, her insurance did call me today for a statement and told me she gave a completely different version of events. I said I had pics that prove I was hit from behind by a rolling truck. They asked me if I took the pics at the scene, which of course I didn't, I don't carry a camera.

Thanks for the Help MrCollegeGuy!
