2k headlight housing on 2k2

is it possible just to swap 2k2 and 2k housing and get the h4 bulbs and h/l relay?

Yes. Just like you can put 2K2 lights on a 2K. You will have to do some wiring either way, but they are identical as far as mounting is concerned.

2k headlights on a 2k2

I put 2k headlights on my 2k2 and the headlights are not identical. they will mount correctly but there is a 1 inch space between the bottom of the headlight and the bumper. I thought they were identical until I tried to mount them myself. I dont understand how the 2k2 fits in perfectly if it is bigger. My only question is, is there a difference between 2k and 2k1 headlights. i didnt think there was. For those of you that are skeptical, yes I mounted them correctly you cannot mount them wrong, and if anyone thinks it is a perfect fit please try it yourself and let me know.

Dave B can get you the clips...

juice, if you didnt break your clips (only way to remove them) and install the 2k clips, the lights will not fit properly.. yes there are slightly smaller.. only slightly. If you dont get the 2k/1 clips, your headlights will not alight properly either. The clips are what holds the light in on the bottom

I have no idea if I have the clips but mine are in as tight as can be an the light output with H4 HID bulbs is much better than the light output of my stock 2k2 HID's

what I'm telling you is that the bottom retaining clips are different... by about 3/4 of an inch to be exact. Without the proper clips, 2k2 lights will not go all the way in on a 2k and 2k lights in a 2k2 will go too far in.

they are cheap and simple to install..

we've all tried to release them without them breaking.. :/ they will snap.. just pry them with a screw driver and dont look back.. they are thankfully very inexpensive.

How'd you do the wiring to get the 2k2 to work with H4 / 9003 bulbs?

Any tips?
