Now I have terrible vibration and clunking when you hit the accelerator. I have an idea on how to fix but from the others that had this problem what was your fix??? I had planned to work on it today but we just got over 8" of snow here so now I have to find somebody with a garage. Matt

I think I am going to have to drop the y with rubber bushings and use longer bolts to stop the clunking. There are metal support brackets. They are black and about a foot long that span across tunnel underneath the car. There are two of them and you have to remove them in order for the pipe to clear. The Warpspeed Y pipe hangs lower than the stock one. Let me know how it turns out.
I'm interested to see what fixes this. I've got my y and b sitting in my office right now while I wait for my spark plugs to come in so I can take care of them all in one night.

That was the exact problem. The pipes fit snug with out any known leaks. It was about a 10 min fix and now when this $hity snow clears I will be able to test out the car. I will be dynoing next week to see what the actual gains are for my car with the mods in sig. MattOriginally posted by look2me40

Sorry I did not get to you before you left earlier blubyu2k2. The problem eluded me for a little bit cause it just wasn't that easy to see. Polo...I threw mine away, but now that you know, you should be able to see them with no problem. I don't know about the others, but mine was aluminized to cut down a little weight and I am probably gonna eventually switch the stuff out for bigger pipe once I get a turbo or supercharger on there. This recent change in my exhaust was in preparation for a butt load of NOS.

well look2me40, from what i understand, there should be no difference at all power wise with the aluminized and the SS models. the SS just offers the benefit of being SS, that which can easily be achieved with the aluminized and some rustoleum spray paint. won't look nice, but it's under the car, so who cares. plus, it's also good to header wrap it, so nothing would show anyway.Originally posted by look2me40

I don't think it is a good idea to wrap the pipe because condensation can form under the tape and just sit there. Constant water in between the pipe and the wrap could make a hole sooner rather than later. As far as power, no, there is no diff in power between Aluminized and SS. I was saying there is a slight weight differece and it was cheaper...

Did you get the B-pipe with the resonator?
Is the new set-up any louder than stock and if so please explain.

I'm waiting for my tax return to come in next week... I'm pretty sold on the Warpspeed Y-pipe thanks to you guys. I am a little on the fence about waiting for Cattman's version to come out. My question is... What is the advantage of the B-pipe? Is there a significant gain by adding the b-pipe to the y-pipe? Is there an installation problem if you don't add the b-pipe? Does the b-pipe affect the noise level? I plan to keep the stock muffler for stealth purposes. I didn't want to start a new thread on this, so I figure this would be an appropriate thread to ask the questions. Thanks!!

I would recommend getting a b pipe to open up the rest of the exhaust. I have it running to the stock muffler and the noise is almost a quiet as stock.
