Is there an immobilzer on ECU?

I just got my 5spd swap done on my gle 2k1. But I didn't get a chance to swap out the ECU yet so I'm still using the auto. Got that SES light and my speedo don't work. I can live with the ses light but I need my speedo... I know our cars have an immobilizer on it and I was told that because of this it can't be programmed on my car without the master key from that vin#. I'll have to have a key cuz with my vin# so that it will work on this new ecu. Or Will just swapping the ecu work?

I think Kevin (y2kse) did a auto to manual swap. Actually I'm sure of it. Check with him about the ECU, he might be able to shed some light for you.

Kev is using his autoMAGIC ECU.

If you want the manual ECU to work, you MUST have a Nissan dealer reprogram all three: keys(ALL), immobilizer control unit(in ignition key cylinder), and the ECU.

Otherwise, the car will not start.

Yeah, I PM'd Kev and he told me the same thing.. I guess I'll just deal with that for now. But the thing is I want the Speedo to work at least.. Anyone know where I can connect the speed sensor back?
