HELP!! SES light!!
HELP!! SES light!!
So im on my to class this mornnig and i look down and my SES light was burning....well my car is running fine, doesnt sound funny, nothing seems to be wrong with it AT ALL. I got my oil changed earlier this afternoon (which was past due by about 1500 miles) and now im gonna unhook the negative battery cable for a couple hours to see if thatll make the light go out. What could the problem be??? How does the car act when there is a blown MAF?? Could it just be an O2 sensor?? Spark plugs?? (im at around 57800 miles) Anyone...help me out. I was gonna get someone to check it out for me but they wanted $35 just too hook it up and see why the light was comin on! And if i would have had $35 i prolly would have paid it anyway...i just wanna know y my max is giving me an SES light.

Re: HELP!! SES light!!
Well without hooking up a scanner to the car and getting the code number there is no way to tell what the problem is. It could be anything you listed and many more. If you had MAF probs you'd probibly have a driveability prob. My bet is o2 or egr sensor. $35 isn't to bad if they knock it off the repair.
SES is off now...
I reset the ECU...(left negative battery cable unhooked)....hooked it back up and no more SES...let it run for a while and drove around for about an hour...no SES...so its cool now...

Good luck to ya.
Just a Thought?
Why is it that so many members want to clear the "SES Code" before they find out what the potential problem might be???
That's what the function of the OBD code is, to assist one in finding a problem. It's like, let me disconnect the battery and then say a prayer that it won't ever come back. So can someone tell me what's up with that???
Thanks
