I've got a slow connection, so I didn't look through all the pics.

However, did you get the ECU and axles?

Also, was the AE trans a manual?

If I were you, I would call Dave Burnette NOW and warn him you're going to be needing his help.

Good luck!

That is Mardigrasmax(sp?), but he is installing it in a 4th gen.

I know the AE manual axles are different than the non-AE auto, but Dave Burnette can tell you if they are the same.

His number is (800)251-7278.

BTW, why are you swaping? Anything wrong with your AE engine/trans? How many miles?

whoa in a 4th gen??...that's cool. i kno for sure the engine bay from 1995 - 2003 are exactly the same. it should fit perfectly. he's got a lighter car too heh.

my AE engine has only 19871 miles. i'm swapping because i got the 3.5 for a robbing price

Cool pics, but umm, MaximaSEAE01, wouldn't you be better off just selling your current Max and getting and 02 or 03 instead of going thru all the trouble?

Then again, perhaps you like the challenge and working on your car...

haha you got a point about selling my car for a new one. i baby my car so much, the issue is getting serious....i got this engine for under 1k including shipping/wiring harness/ECU/with no dirt(maybe a little). the VIN says it's only got 50 miles on it. i know a 43 yr old mech that talks like he's in high school hahahah, but he's been into engine stuff since pintos were rolling out. pioneers are somewhat crazy heh...

If you can actually pull this swap off it will be impressive. This subject has been talked about before and everyone decided it would'nt be worth it after all the parts and labor costs.... you might as well just trade in for a 2002 or better and you'd end up paying almost the same amount on a trade!
Anyway... good luck. I'm curious to see how it turns out and what your overall bill is... if you dont mind sharing the info!
