You know there really is no point is calling others ricers when people view all japanese cars as ricers.

I think this is what happened guys. They cruised until about 130mph, then the galant passed him (knowing the car has a speed limiter) and flashed his hazards calling it a win.

What a joke. I've always been told that only crazy people argue with other crazy people. It's like going to a psych ward and starting arguing with one of the "residents" there about what is more powerfull (a galant or a maxima). You'll be committed instantly as well. No questions asked.

 

Dude!! First off, my kids are in school right now. Second of all, unless your I4 Galant is a modded 4G63 equipped 1991-92 Galant VR4, dont EVEN think you have ANY performance edge on any Maxima manufactured from 1995-Present. I've had a couple of I4 Galants rev on me; what do I do when this happens? (rhetorical question) Nothing; @ $1.70 for premium gas, why waste it.

Insult to injury: I raced a 3G Eclipse GS (same 2.4 motor) at the track (with my 2K2), my MAF sensor blew and I still beat him by 3 car lengths.

But, I'll tell you what. I still have my 1999 Honda Accord 4dr with an Iceman intake and APEXi exhaust; I'll race you in that.

 

I think it's funny that Mante(Benard)is a Moderator and had to lock his own thread. Then the guy has the nerve to show up over here! I guess he was afraid that more of us would register at the all mighty TGC.

 

Okay, it's the good ol' Honda boy to save the day with my friend Mante. To answer a few on-going questions. Has he car ever done 136mph ANSWER: YES Has it done it under 10 minutes ANSWER: YES Have I ever seen his car work down a MAX ANSWER is a surprising YES. Now before you guys jump on my back and call me a rice boy....let me let me mods 93 4 door civic. Now the mods (B16 1.6 liter transplant warmed over with eagle stroker kit pushs displacement (I won't tell you the current displacement (racer's sercet) JE 11.8.1 pistons eagle connecting rods, balanced crank, port & polish, 5 angle valve job, integra type-R valve springs, crowers cams, skunk2 cam gears, aem pulleys, 2.5" JDM exhaust, integra gsr transmission, Hondata engine management system..........oh did I mention it can rev safely to 9K that's 9,000 RPMs.....) I have hurt a few 2k2 and 2k3 Max's feelings out there. But this is not about me. It's about the fact that you guys are jumping on my friend and don't have a lot of facts to base your decisions on.

this is the orginal post Minding my business on the highway, goign through traffic I see a brand new maxima..I think nothing of him and proceed to go around him and continue on my trip home. On my way around him I hear that V6 down and pull up in front of me thus cutting me off...OH HELL NO....Knowing that the I4 has no low end power what so ever I tell myself to just ride his *** until a certain spot where we can be above 120 right as where most cars lose power but as Im still pulling. We finally weave through traffic, the entire time I see him checkin his rear view to see if I was still with him lol. My hunch was correct, I went around the last car on his right and gained a car legth on him. Around 115 the gap was nothing, his bumper was at my front door but at Im guessing is 125 that gap was back to a car length. We still had room to run and I was slowly pulling away, at that point I HAD to open the moon roof and show the 4 fingers then tapped the hazards. As I slowed down and pulled beside him he refused to look at me haha, since he didnt want to gave him the thumbs down!

 

So you guys should meet with him...to really solve all of this. He's right you should do it before mid Feb. He has something really interesting in the works....

 

ooh, the fuzzy dice mod... guaranteed to add 115hp per die!

and civic guy, what do your mods on your civic have to do with this conversation? I have a friend who put a 5.0 engine in a 4-wheel drive ranger... it's sick, you should see it, but it has NOTHING to do with this.

any 2k2 on this board... ANY... could beat that galant just using the even gears.

i think you have it backwards - HE is the one with NO facts to back up his position - he's got basically a stock galant claiming to outrun a car with 115 more horsepower.

i dont doubt what you can do with your car. but he's basically claiming that a muffler and spark plugs can beat a car with EIGHTY PERCENT MORE POWER. Apply the same math to a maxima - would you EVER believe us if we claimed to have beaten a 460HP car - that's a viper my friend. what he's doing is akin to us going to the viper forum and claiming that a basically stock maxima beat a viper...

no reasonable guy would think that...now where are HIS facts then??

 

got timeslips..there is a civic here with a type r motor swap that has laid a beating on me. Her car is 2300lbs and put down 188whp so I can live with that loss approx 1-1/2 cars from 40-110. But as far as a car that weighs much more and might put down 130 at the wheels give me a break

Sounds like it is time for a road trip. I will make sure I pack 200lbs worth of sandbags in the car along with 6 people just to make everything fair.

 

So are you going to LIST your current mods? We can accept being beat if there is a good reason for it. 95-99 Maximas top out @ 140, so IF this guy was racing all-out, he should have topped that in his 5th Gen. There is no speed limiter on SE or GLE models, so your "I will beat you after the limiter" theory does not hold water.

I don't think that anyone is saying that there is NO WAY that you beat the max- we just want to know how. It definately could be driver (as in, the Max driver has no stones, and you had the ***** to go above 130...simple as that).

Post your challenge in THIS FORUM and I think that you will have numerous takers for your race.

I think he'd be hitting 150 mph (would be faster, but there's the rev limiter that gets in the way) before you could hit 2nd gear
