Climate Control question, new to my car

Hi everyone, Well I just got my 2k3 maxima se a few weeks back, and I am new to its climate control. Here's what's wrong, whenever I press the Auto button, the thing will set itself to control all the temperature and all itself...The problem is, it only blows down, how do I change the controls, so that when I press the Auto button, it will blow to the front. I know I can manually change it by pressing mode, but I was just wondering if I can program it to when I press the auto button to just blow frontwards...

thanks all

Auto controls where the air goes. You can set what temp you want the auto to get upto or down to. It automatically controls the fan speed and locations. That is what auto is.

If you change the fan speed, then it kicks it off auto and into manual mode.

There's no way to do what you're asking. If you want only the dash vents to be open, hit auto first, then hit manual til it shows arrows pointing out of only the vents. From here, use the dial to adjust to the preferred temperature. If you do it exactly this way, the fan will speed up or slow down "automatically" even though the setting is on manually.

I notice mine only blows down when it has to heat the interior. Otherwise, to cool the car, it always uses the front vents.

I think.... I haven't driven my car in 7 weeks!!!!!
