5th gen non bose speakers question

I'm in the proccess of replacing all my interior speakers in my 5th gen max.. I have a NON-Bose system, From what I here all the speakers are still going through a factory amp. Is this true? and if so how many watts/ohms are bieng deliverd to each speaker...??

The non-Bose amp is inside the HU.

As far as the wattage, expect it to be somewhere around 15-35 watts per speaker. The load ratings for the factory speakers are on the back of them. The wattage for the HU's output is normally what the nominal rating is on the back of the factory speakers.

The factory speakers are 4 ohms.

I had the non-bose CD player. The speakers are something like 35 watt max, dual paper cones. Poor performance to say the least. I left em in when I added my amp, just to see if I could start them on fire. No fire, but they died real quick. The stock HU could power some aftermarket speakers that were real sensitive, but it would distort pretty early so either get a new deck and new speakers or get an amp to power the new speakers.

Oh yeah, this goes in the Audio forum
