I don't think the S2000 comes in automatic. I think it's manual only. I may be wrong, but i think so. Also, unless the driver of the car revs up to 9000rpm, there's no point racing because the car produces it's power way up there and it takes revving up that high to pull the tested numbers. But still, a win is a win. Great kill.

he didnt know how to drive it. I've been in a properly driven S2000 and its a beautiful thing. Also, you arent really beating on a S2000 at 8000 rpm. you'd just have to hear it, the car LOVES those RPMs.

Not saying you would have lost, but you wouldnt have shamed a good driver. I drove one and I thought I was doing well. I wasnt at all. I was driving it like other cars and that wont quite cut it in a s2000.

I was at the IDRC races last night here in hawaii. there
was a S2000 racing in the braket's. He had intake and exhaust
and was doing high 15's all night in the qualifier. It was not
that hot last night either. The S2000 in my eyes are just
really expensive fourbangers. they drive like tercels until
about 7500 rpm's. I'm glad you got a kill on that
crappy car.

Ignorance

Saying an S2000 is like a Tercel is straight IGNORANT!
Respect each car for what it is or is not. It is not a 4 door. It is a convertible. Everyone has a 6 speed MANUAL tranny. It has 240BHP and 2 liters. There is not another automobile motor that has more horses per liter. It weighs 2800lbs. It can carve the hell out of a set of twisties. It is not a dragster. It has relatively low torque. It is a drivers car. I started the 1/4 in the 15s but after a few passes could stay in the 14s after I learned how to launch it. This I know since I traded my 2002 S2000 for a 2003 Max SE. Yeah you may have won and yeah he may actually been trying and yeah it may be a kill but it is nothing like a TERDCEL!
I personnally like the Boxster and think it is a nice car that has more luxury that the S and it also has a more respected name. I chose the S and stomped 2 different boxsters in all races; from roll, stop, and over 120...but the Boxster is still a great car!
The Max is not the best sedan ever, but it is a hell of a vehicle for the money which is why I bought one, and I am happy with it and the fact that the dealer gave me money back made it better...one thing it can do better than the S is smoke a set of OEM tires!!The stock tires on my S lasted 9000 miles and I think the potenzas may not last much longer!!Torque is a beautiful thing!!!!
I love this board for the information, but a few degrade it pretty bad. A guy in the office here has a galant and is a member of TGC and he is always printing stuff against Max's that IGNORANT people post. He respects my car and I his...but we all laugh at stupid comments...like paralleling an S2000 to a TERCEL-WTF??
Answer-I traded the S because I am going to be a DAD for the first time and cannot be happier...children are forever and possessions come and go...

When rolling, keep the rubber side down!

Congrats on being a dad, and dont take it so personally man. Any other board you go to you will hear people talking smack about other makes and models. I agree with you about S2000, its a nice car, but its not as fast as people claim. I also raced one from 60 to about 120 and Im an auto and had a extra person with me. I ligned up next to him and took off (I was 1 car ahead) and then he stepped on it. He only got to my side door which means from 60 to 120 he only gained 1/2 car on me which isnt that much.

i'm sorry, i didn't know how sensitive you were about
your car. For the price of the s2000 new, i expected more
form the car. A friend of mine bought one. and he ranted
and raved about how fast it was. I smoked him badly in
my rx7. which was in same price range. and that was all
stock. I then smoked him in my Elan. and i drove a JDM
Integra type r. that car felt a lot stronger than the
s2000. so like i said, for the price, yes it felt like
turdcel.
