2k3 dummy light

2k2 SE 11K mi. "Service Engine Soon" light seems to come on when fuel tank is low, approx. 1/4 tank or less. No "low fuel light" ever comes on. Owners manual states this may happen at or below 3 gal. of fuel in tank, "SES" light should reset itself after the next few driving trips.
- It has not reset after 3 days and several trips.
- gas cap is secure , fuel tank is full.
The first time this happened, dealer reset it and said gas cap may have been loose according the service code. I did'nt think that was the cause then and I'm certain its not the cause this time.

Is this normal operation?
When does the low fuel light come on, if ever?

On my 2K3 the fuel light comes on when the tank is at about 4 gallons...also the DTE (distance to empty) starts flashing on the trip computer

Try reseting the ECU yourself.. Just disconnect the negative battery wire for about 5mins..
