Any 02's w/ Apexi & Frankencar w/ no MAF Problems
All I have been reading is about 02-03 guys that switch from K&N to the Apexi filter and blow their MAF when using the Frankencar intake. I have the Frankencar with the K&N filter right now (actually the Berk style cylinder not the cone shaped) and was thinking of switching over to Apexi. Has anyone switched and not had problems? I haven't had any issues with my current setup, but am wary of the clean/reoil process.
Also, does anyone know offhand what the going rate is for 02-03 MAFs or the 00-01 replacements that seem to work better? Need to know how much I should be willing to spend if the Apexi doesn't work out.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Neal

I have the frankencar intake with Apexi filter. I have about 5700 miles on the car and no problems (knock on wood!). I've never had the K&N so that's good I guess.
But, on the other hand, I haven't driven my car in 2 months because of my accident.

1,200 miles and still have no problems with my MAF. It's probally because I'm still running the stock air-box I'm thinking of doing the 2000-2001 MAF mod before installing my Franken as somewhat of a safety precaution. But then again,Am I really safe from the "MAF Epedemic" if I do so??? Only trail and error can answer this. emax told me his 2000-2001 MAF is still holding up so...Doesn't member DaveB sell the 2000-2001 MAF at a reasonable price shipped???

with all of these problems that people are experiencing, is it even worth it to have a "modded" intake? i know that it produced more h.p. plus more of an aggressive sound, but man there just seems to be a lot of problems. just wondering how much more power you feel when using a different intake. i had one for my svt contour, and yes it made a difference, but then again there wasn't any people that encountered problems with different manufacturers. just my 2 cents. then again there's a lot of people here that don't i have problems i guess...
