Factory Alarm

I've read a bunch of posts about how bad the factory alarm sucks. I tend to agree that it isn't as good as an aftermarket, but I found out tonight that it does have:

- Hood trigger
- Trunk trigger

I destinctly remember reading posts that said that it did not have a hood trigger (as related to the HID thefts) but I was playing around with it tonight (I installed my blue security LED ) and the alarm will infact sound when the hood is opened.

I'll probably have to replace my HIDs anyway because of all this playing with the alarm.

The factory alarm isn't much of a deterrent, b/c theives can easily disarm it. Some people have been routing the wires that go to the horn to foghorns, inside the engine compartment.

BTW, I just installed the coutesy nissan HID theft kit, well worth the money, and peace of mind. Just do a search, its mentioned in numerous posts.
