You can't change wires because of how our system is set up.

Why do you want to change them? How many miles do you have? We don't have rice-mobiles that gain 50 horsepower when you change the plugs. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I, on the other hand, need to change mine out because of the nitrous.

NGK Laser Platinums. Maxima uses a coil pack on each spark plug, there are no spark plug wires to replace.

NGK Platinum is pretty good, but I would recommend Denso Iridium.

I put in the Denso Iridium about 500 miles ago. A couple things noted...

1. Car had more life, harder pull, not much but it was there.
2. Much quieter engine.

For me that was enough...

And since the Iridium is supposed to last at least 100,000 miles then I don't have to worry about them for a LONG while.

Denso Iridiums are recommended to be changed every 30K on their website. I have had better results with NGK. Check eBay for "NGK Platinum Plugs", you can get 6 of the Maxima OEM plugs for $30 plus $5 shipping. So you are looking at $35 total for 6 plugs that have a MSRP of about $12 each. I changed my OEM NGK plugs at 51K and noticed significant improvement in MPG and Performance. I now plan on replacing them every 40K. I think the money theoretically saved by not changing plugs earlier goes out the exhaust pipe and is lost. It is kind of the pay me now or pay me later scenario. My MPG went up 10%. New plugs paid for themselves. It is your money. I have 6 cars and 1 lawn mower running running NGK plugs.
