Angel Eye fog lights.....

Hey guys, any interest in these? Made by Optilux (Hella) and they are a direct replacement for the 5th gen foglights. If enough people are interested, then I may be able to run a group deal on them. They are white LED powered "halos" with 55watt H3 bulbs (obviously can be easily changed). Here is a pic:

Depends on the amount of people interested, but looking in the $55 range.

If it's a direct fit, I'm definetly in. I was thinking about making some kind of angle eyes for my fogs since I'm too big of a wimp to open up my head lights.

If this is truely a direct replacement I might consider also. I don't want to have to hack anything apart - I'm leasing.

They didn't like the idea. I like the idea though. When do we need the $55 in by? I have no job and need to scrap some money in.

I am sure lots of people like it but people in that thead were just copying one another so they wouldn't be 'different'

Not a problem, depending on how many people order I may pick up a few extra sets for those that come a little later to jump in.

As for fitment Hella assures me that it is a direct fit for the 5th gen Nissan Maxima. A few other cars too, but they dont count here

Re: Angel Eye fog lights.....

These lights would be sweet, and $55.00 for a pair isn't too bad.

I do have some questions...

If these are direct replacements for the existing fog lights, does that mean there are no other parts? Do the angel eye rings light up seperately from the actual fog lights? If so, how? A seperately installed switch?

Thanks. Peace.

Just a few questions!

1. These are direct replacement, so all we have to do it take our fogs out and pop these in correct?
2. Do they come with bulbs?
3. Is there any extra wires to run for the angel lights, or are they tapped off, of the fogs?
4. Is there any warranty?

Thanks.

At $55 a pair, I would definitely be interested. Let me know if a group deal comes about.

I would imagine you run the same power for the fogs. The LED's wouldn't need much energy.

Don, it would be a good idea to contact Hella about how they are installed. It would clear up a lot of confusion about them. The installation will either make or break this for me. I think they would look SWEET...but don't feel like going through such a copious install for it.

Thanks,
Ryan

here are the installation instructions
http://www.hellausa.com/optilux/prod...tallation.html
I'm technically challenged when it comes to car electronics and can't comment how easy or difficult it would be to install.

My questions are, does the set come with relais and instalation hardware? does housing sit at an angle like OEM one?

It looks like there is a three way switch in the instructions. One position for 'off', one for the LED ring, and one for the lights.

I don't know how it would work on our Maximas being that we only have ON/OFF. If the LED ring is on with the lamp all the time would it even be visible?

Inquiring minds want to know!!

You most likely wouldnt use that switch, except maybe just for the halo. Unless you have a GXE, then you can take full advantage of the switch instead of buying the entire Nissan fog light kit.

You would probably wire it in with the parking lights, and driving lights. That way when you have your fogs off they would be on when the lights are on and/or parking lights. Or if you want only the angel eyes to light up then you would have to use it on a separate switch.

Over Xmas break from school I tried to make my own angle eyes...I got the fog lights apart and then I realized something....the inside of the fogs are not circle....its more like and octagon shape...thats if the eyes go in the back....but if the eyes go in the front against the plastic cover then wouldnt they be off angle...because the fog lights slant with the body line....just a comment.....

Me personally I would wire it so that the ring would be on/off with the park lights and then the foglights would come on when the headlights came on. Is this what you're talking about?

I like that idea, count me in, and call me when you can.I'll go there tomorrow if you want.

I would need however a separate switch or something to turn on just the halos since if I turn on the HID's you probably won't be able to see the halos.

Schedule me in for this saturday sometime if possible, my friend with the Integra wants to go talk to you.

If you can install the angel eyes on saturday, all the better. So it would be the flasher for the airhorns and the angel eyes this time. Call me and let me know.
