Installed, I90hp killa and NYC GS4(GXE) have seen them.

READ THIS FULLY AND UNDERSTAND.

The main problem is the bracket, no center hole.
Next is that the factory foglamps have a cage for the actual fog light unit. Either you mutilate your factory cage and bolt the Hella lamps on that cage and install them like you took out your factory foglamps. I say that cause the screws holding the foglight in place is a bish to get out. If you go this route, you have just ruined a $130 factory foglamp. Why ? No space for bolt to fit between cage and bumper. The two line up pins never get in, and you are back to square one. If you try rivetting the Hella bracket to the cage, and you don't crack the cage, then you are lucky. I was not. So now its official, $130 foglamps wasted. Moving on.

The option of drilling a center hole in the middle of the bracket.
YOU MUST use your stock bolt clip, the 10mm bolt you take out to remove the foglamp. So measure out the center and place the bolt clip down the center and mark and drill.

Installing, the bracket is a bit wide for the actual bumper, so you have to contort to different shapes to truly get them to fit.

Aimming them, you have to get it just right, leave it tight, but just tight enough that you can pivot left to right. Up and down action is tight since the foglamps are now recessed inside the bumper.

The foglamps do put more light on the floor than stock foglamps.
Be warned, that you must use the relay kit that comes with the kit. I started blowing out LEDs when I hardwired to a 12V source, namely side bumper lamps.

This is the drama I went through, before I had them stolen, and I bought another set for $49.

Post pics of unit and what I mean in a day or so.

Mr. max420's set up came out looking great, and I guess he went through something similar when I was trying the first time.

i think it should be mentioned this thread is NOT for a group deal. some people believe there is a group deal and there isn't cuz the lights can be purchased at the store for the same price.

tbpnyc007 is right. My friend and I went through it already. It's NOT a perfect swap and replace fog lights. The stock foglights are not perfect circles like the angel eyes. Also tbpnyc007 hit it on the money, taking out the stock foglights are a pain in the a$$.

speedy2k1: u can't see the ring if the fogs are on (too bright thus u can't see the ring).

flordabornmax: i don't think shops will do this install cuz of the amount of work. maybe performance places will do it.

pix is on the 5th page for those asking for pix.

Thanks for the write-up on your install. Sorry to hear that the first set was stolen. I will purchase them and try my hand at installing them.

that just about sums it up.. they were a PITA to install but it took only 3 hours.. Always remember ZIPTIES and a DREMMEL are an insatllers best friends.. i did ruin the stock fog housings and these are NOT plug n play.. you are pulling too much power if you wire them to lets say sidemarkers you MUST wire to a battery..
but i am not worried about the housing cuz im not going back to stock.. These look way too good..

They are white LED powered "halos" with 55watt H3 bulbs (obviously can be easily changed). Here is a pic:

These fog lights looks pretty cool, but they have halogen bulbs. Doesn't that mean that it will project a yellowish color? even if the bulb can be changed, it is still 55W, halogne bulbs except with a whiter color, which wont light up the road as good as just plain yellow/sun colors.
Anyone know where I can buy one set that's similar to the Lexus IS300 fog lights? I want something that's super bright yellow like the IS300. I think it will look good, and better lighting ON the road.

what answers you looking for? let us know. A general summary (and difficulty) of the installation is on page 6. There hasn't been any group deal either. oh there are some pix are on page 5 if you need to see them.

Actually, I re-read the entire thread and it seemd we all are calling these fog lights (including myself). They are 55W DRIVING lights; as noted on the box that I am looking at right now. So, that means that they will be much brighter than the OEM FOG lights and that they will project a different beam than the OEM fogs. Also, judging from the various photos, the light they project is not that yellow. I will know soon enough.........

I found an old Eaglite H3 HID kit, which has a shorter bulb than the Hanabi kit I had in my stock foglights. They fit inside the Hella housing nicely, but be warned, these will blind anything that has eyes in front of you. Fog lights alone put down more light than the 2K2 headlamps I have on my 2K right now. The Eaglite kit is the plasma 5200K, I picked it up from Ebay for $360. I don't know if they still sell em, but I can't get a good picture of these cause they look a bit greenish on camera. The color is more bluish, but hopefully I can borrow Rba's digicam in a day or so.

foglights blinding people? i'd never thought i'd see that. i'll probably just change the bulbs to match the color of my headlamps.

The hellas reflector isn't like stock one, no shielding in front of H3 bulb. add HIDs and poof you will be blinded by the light, with my old hanabi set up, it was a good amount of light on the floor, but with the hella + HID, blows that out the door.
[edit-add]
I'd like to add that I have just completed a HID Xenon D2S set up. Complete Hella Ballast + D2S bulb + Hella Optilux housing. Details to come tonite. [/edit-add]

I was the only one on optilux's, stolen, and back again. Now Eaglite H3 HIDs in 5200K Plasma color on my 2K1, and now D2S HIDs on my 2K.

The D2S conversion is real easy. Open up the Hella housing, two screws for cover, and 2 screws for H3 bulb. Place a D2S bulb on the outside housing where the two screws go for the cover. There is a notch in the D2S bulb, line that up with one hole, install screw, mark area where other screw should go, straight accross. Dremel as needed, and install D2S bulb, there will be slight gaps, and next option is either silicone or use a balloon. I chose balloon since I hate silicone smell + didn't wanna leave screws exposed to HID plug in case one day it decides to arc. Cut balloon in center, and wrap it over D2S HID Bulb. Test fit plug and make sure its nice and stable. Get under the car, and route plug through side hole of foglight housing in the bumper, secure the plug on bulb, and carefully remount, judging with eyes to get center, leave a lil room to pivot left to right, cause w/ HIDs, it won't matter up and down. Test fire. Starts blue, goes into white-blue phase w/ a slight halo of yellow. The HID bulb's light source is exposed enough to provide insane light out of these small foglamps. While the Eaglite set up was well defined since its a retrofit H3-HID bulb, the D2S was spread all over my garage wall. Hopefully I can drag out my friend tonite to grab a few pix.
There it is in a nutshell what's involved.

Yes, foglights blind people. Even factory foglights can cause a wicked glare off a wet road. Wet roads are the general reason some people hate fogs.

Glare off wet road is ok, as long as you can see whats in front of you, the purpose of driving lights is to aid to see whats in front, judging from the amount of light given off I'd say I can see more w/ my foglights than w/ stock H4 halogen bulbs.

The housing (cages) where the OEM foglights are nestled need to be modified to fit the Angel eyes. Mine were installed by Jeff Renaldo of MaximumTuning.net. I don't remember the price of install since he bundled the cost of the install with the install of my UDP. Just give him a call and he will give you what you need...

read around page 5+. i think most people had a difficult time. i heard 2k2+ stock fog lights are bigger than the 2K-2K1 so i'm not sure how it would fit.

I found this on ebay, are halo fogs a pain to install and not even worth the effort to put in? Im an impatient person, but I will stick it out and finish the job if the outcome is worth it. Currently I have stock '00 headlamps and will be swapping to the halo headlamps within the next few weeks. What do ya'll think after the install? I need some input on these things. Thanks.

I hope it wasnt the scantily clad santas helper that is sucking you into buying this junk.

Seriously...get OEM-i've gone through literally 4 or 5 sets of aftermarket fogs on 5th gens and spending quite a bit more than that at times and have settled on the OEM fogs-upgrading the bulbs DOES make a difference too.

Plus..keep in mind the pain in the a$$ when you have to change a bulb-OEM FTW!!

Well I was wondering if it was worth a shot. Since you seem to have a lot of problems with them and everyone else is complaining the install I guess I will keep em stock. Thanks for the input.
