Maybe a new Max Owner
Hey everyone...
I am checking out getting into an '02 Maxima.
I just want some general input on a few things. First, I believe it has the same VQ as the 350Z, where is the extra HP on the 350Z from?
Second, I love the body on the 20th anniversary Maxima (Front Facia, Side Skirts, etc.) What is there for the '02 that's similiar? Kits that are clean, not ricey.
Also, I read some threads on Nissan dealership reliability, personally Im selling my Grand Cherokee 5.9, and can't see anyone being as bad as DC. Thoughts?
By the way, if I go this way, it'll be a fully loaded Maxima. Navi included (preferably)
Also, are there any general information anyone would like to give me?

The 350Z, Altima, Infiniti G35, Infiniti I30/I35, all have the same engines. There is a difference in intake / exhaust manifolds that supposedly makes more or less hp. Our Maxima's are really about 240 hp, not 255 (But its still very snappy).
There are plenty of aftermarket kits on this board, use the search.
Some people do have bad experiences with dealerships. Unless you spend the extra $$$ to get an Infiniti, BMW, or Benz, you may or may not get satisfying service. My dealership has been great so far, though I only have 5500 miles on my 2k3.
There seems to be a few problems with the 2k2 and before models, some people think that the 2k3 models might have worked out some more bugs. Take a couple hours and scan through this forum, there is a wealth of info.
For car pricing, try http://www.carsdirect.com which will give you an idea on the price. Depending on the dealership you go to, there may be a significant price break.
