Cocky *** TL-Type S

Okay, on my way home i was coming oh I24 and this Bitc* (it was a guy) was tail gating me like crazy in this black TL-S and when i tried to move out of the way he just floored his car and i hear the roar of his engine and he gets right beside me and gives me this look like "get that POS outta the way, I have a TL, I own this road." Then afterwards he proceeds to try and cut me off... so being irritated by this cocky TL-s I speed up and he swurves back to his lane... by now i think hes pis*ed, so i get right beside him and we both give each other this look and we both floor our cars.... We both hang with each other and he edges a little but then I kinda catch up... he was so determined to make me look stupid that he didnt see a 18 wheeler in front of him and he almost wrecked his car.... i slowed down just to give him a smile like who is the dumbas* now? I guess he got imbarassed because he slowed down afterward... and I kept driving. I have seen many people in Tls act like that. Why do people in Tl-s do that. I have nothing against Tl drives because one of my best friends owns a TL and I love it. But when they try to race and cut you off, they really arent too much faster than the 2k3 Maxima.

I had similar experience with a Blue TL-S, but I won't steal your story with my But, I think since they got that "S emblem" (a Performance model) they think they need to drive fast, almost like they got something to prove.

Most of the TL drivers drive pretty normal in my area, but tends to see "Type S" drivers drive much faster. Oh well, I guess its human nature

K, so I was driving on I80 West Highway from Indiana to Chicago. About 4 or 5 in the afternoon. Going back home from school for the weekend. It was a 3 Lane highway, I was in the middle lane doing about 70MPH in a 55MPH zone (Most cars drive around 65MPH)

I see this Blue TL-S w/ full OEM ground effect and spoiler driving pretty fast behind me, eventually he starts riding my rear bumper. It was traffic hour so there is a lot of cars around me. I couldn't move to the side to let him pass, but I don't want him riding my bumper, so I drop to 5th gear from 6th and pulled about 2 car distance on him, then I had to slow down because there was cars infront of me. Then he starts to ride my bumper again, I was lik WTF?

After the traffic clear up a bit, I give 70% on the accelerator still in 5th gear, I was doing 90MPH. He was couple cars back, I wasn't trying to race him but just get him off my butt. I went back to 6th gear and back doing 70MPh crusing speed. 30seconds later, I see him in the left lane coming up pretty quick that just zoom passed me. I just went back to my business, didn't bother to race him. I went back to having conversation with my GF, then 5 minutes later I see blue/red flashes infront of me and I know someone got busted. Guess what?! Damn TL-S just got pulled over by a SUV Police cruser.

Not really a race story, but just a experience I had with a TL-S.

Actually that is a pretty good story, even though you didnt race him he got what he deserved, and its not that its because its a TL, but anyone who is a punk like that should get pulled over..

Cool story, but guys - I'm sure there just as many instances of Maxima drivers badgering TL-S drivers to race, and doing stupid things. Some idiots drive TL-S', some drive Maximas. And around here, a lot drive pickups...

I'd say about 70% of the time I see somebody doing something completely STUPID on the road, it's a Honda/Acura driver. 10% goes to Mitsubishi, 10% to BMW, and the last 10% is completely random (Nissan is not excluded).

Even my fiance agrees with me on that about Honda/Acura's, because she came home from work one day b!tching up a storm about how she was fed up with Honda/Acura drivers, and I hadn't even mentioned anything to her previously.

I have a pretty good idea of why Honda/Acura people are more likely to drive the way they do and with that mentality, but I won't get into that here (would be a good OT topic).

I actually haven't run into any troublesome TL-S's here in the DC area. The ones to watch out for are the CL-S's. I swear to God that more often than not the people driving these cars are doing something REALLY stupid. The coupe driver in general is younger and has less responsibility. At least that's the image of a coupe, and a lots of people like to drive cars that are a reflection of themselves.

actually, some of the biggest jerks I've seen in traffic are younger people in Maximas. It almost seems like maxima owners are the ones that feel they have something to prove. Seeing a maxima stomp on it because a S2000/CL/TL/WRX/RSX/boxster/540/740/etc is just trying to pass is hilarious. And I see it all the time. "Sports car? oh, hell no, youre not getting past this grocery getter!"

Of course, driving a maxima, I understand it. Basically we have a ton of highway torque and can usually do some wonderful passive aggressive blocking maneuvers when people start a$$ing out around us.

They only get that treatment if THEY were doing something stupid in the first place. Swerving in and out of heavy traffic, cutting people off, narrowly avoiding bumpers, and passing on the SHOULDER are all the norm here in the DC area. When I stomp on it to close the nice and safe 5-6 car-length space I have between me and the car in front of me, there's a reason. It's because the tard that's about to cut in will be going +20 mph, will cut right in, realize he's about to rear-end the person in front of him, slam on the brakes, undershoot the traffic speed by about -10-20mph, and now I have to slam the shia out of my brakes too, and pray to GOD that the person behind me is paying attention so that I don't get rear-ended, spun out, flipped, or in the worst-case, DEAD

So when I do that, I'm actually doing them, myself, and the rest of traffic a FAVOR by stopping a very dangerous situation from occuring before it even starts. Accidents just like that happen around here many many many times per day. You can't trust ANYBODY around here to know what the hell they're doing because NOBODY knows how to drive.

My personal favorite is when somebody cuts right in where there is NO ROOM, and traffic directly ahead simultaneously hits the brakes coincidentally. Now you have a bunch of cars with ZERO distance between them and an instant 5-6 car pileup. Happens at least 2-3 times per week on my route alone. I've had to dive onto the shoulder a few times for this exact reason.

I'm more than happy to let people by me or in front of me who aren't driving like an a$$ and are courteous enough to use their FREAKIN TURN SIGNALS!

You are an A$$, and Oxidizer is an A$$.... You dumb****ts apparently don't know that when two drivers are roadraging or racing against each other and one is involved in an accident directly related to said activities and kills someone (or himself), the OTHER driver will very likely be charged with manslaghter or vehicular homicide for his participating role.

Did you realize he said that he was going 120 in FOCKING TRAFFIC while roadraging/racing this guy?

You guys both should darwin yourselves out of this world. The problem is when you do, you will likely take someone else with you. That would be tragic.

my point being, with torque comes responsibility

True, youre like a rolling citizen roadblock 'cause you can.. again, something maxima owners can do that many other cars cant. I see maxima guys get *drawn into* others stupidity all the time. But I'm not referring to keeping people from killing themselves, I blocked a guy from pulling around me and hitting an ice patch I know he didnt see. He would have taken about a ton of people stopped in the turn lane.

Hey, I have a hard time controlling my go pedal sometimes too.. Sometimes I just get curious what my car can do compared to something else. It goes against my better judgement, but its fun. :/
