need advice on intake to get

i want to get a air intake. i don't want the mid-pipe. i don't want to deal with MAF 's blowing. i just want the cone type filter to replace the oem air box.

so what kit do i need?

what kind should i get? k&n or accel(the blue one)?

where to get it?

any how too's?

what do you do with the sensor in the oem piece to take out?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Without the midpipe you only have 2 choices, JWT or Stillen. They will cost you the same as the FrankenCar. I have the midpipe and my MAF is fine.

You can get the Frankencar without the midpipe.

What makes you think the midpipe is associated with MAFS failures?

Oh sorry. I was not aware of that.

Well, I have the Injen as I said earlier. I was thinking about getting the Frankencar and selling the Injen. Some people said that the Injen sucks in hot air and it'll be worse in the summer time. I got my Injen late in the Fall, so I haven't had a chance to see how it performs in the heat.

What do you guys think?

BTW, dude go with the Frankencar...everyone's doing it.

Hey bro... I have an extra intake adapter I will sell you. Then all you have to do is buy a cone filter with a 3" hole on it. Pep Boys has them in the rice section, as well as the K&N section. Price will vary between $15-$30 depending on the filter you choose.

Let me know if you are interested. Bryan sold them for $29 plus shipping..... I'll take half that.

Well, I just installed the Injen set-up and love it so far. But if you don't want a mid-pipe I'd go with Stillen of Jim Wolf.

he said "rice" section

i hate going into that section ,cuz then everyone thinks i have a ricer!

what kind is it? is it as good as the stillen or jwt adaptor???

is there a difference in the adaptors? like between stillen and jwt?

thx

The Stillen and the JWT are basically the same intakes. They have a device on them that is supposed the enhance air flow, but real world dyno's have proven different. I'm not saying they are bad intakes. they are actually very good intakes. FrankenCar has shown time and again to have the best dyno numbers, but this is with midpipe and not just the intake alone. The sound that the midpip produces around 4k rpm's is just amazing.
