Want a strut bar? They're on sale...

Just received and installed my strut bar from
Courtesy Nissan.

The normal price is 89.95, but they are on sale for $59.95.
Here's the link.
http://www.courtesyparts.com/secondtier_a33.html

The bar is brushed silver with red end plates.
Looks pretty cool.

Just thought I'd let everyone in on this find...

I've got one on my '02. The only problem with it is that the bar makes contact with the manifold when in reverse. Someone suggested placing a couple of washers under each nut to raise the height of the bar. Haven't tried this yet, but it should work.

Is there any strut bar that fits perfect on a 2003? With no modifications to anything?

People havent complained about the more expensive ones. For example: Stillen FSTB. All the compaints I've heard are those that are less than $100.

Yeah I wish I had gotten one off ebay, but I kept delaying it. Bomz isn't making these bars anymore and no longer are on ebay.

FSTBs, but NOT the BOMZ ones.
Looks like three different sellers sell pretty much the same bars for pretty much the same $$$.
Which one to get?

I've never had to adjust my Courtesy FSTB after the 1st time I installed it. Never had it touch the manifold. It does lightly touch the hoodliner on the driver's side, but barely. After 7 months, it's been fine.

Your Courtesy front strut bar touches the manifold during reverse?
Do you have it installed with the bar upside down?
(The bar looks like a wide, boxy U.)
On my 2002 SE, it looks like there is plenty of clearance.

No problems. Just unplug the a/c stuff on the right side to better tighten the bolts. Please use a torque wrench.

It's no "stronger" than the cheaper ones. It might look better or even fit better, but it is not any "stronger". In fact, with those drilled holes on there, in THEORY, it would actually be slightly weaker.....but you'd never tell the difference under normal usage.

From what I heard, the fstb that you have to twist on like courtesy nissan and other cheap ones from ebay are very much different from the good fstb like stillen and cattman.

I may be stupid, but I'm not dumb! Do I have the bar installed upside down?! That's a NO. It makes contact because the engine lifts when in reverse, otherwise the clearance is fine.

And an intake is just a pipe, and rims are just round pieces of metal, and a body kit is just plastic, and etc. Finally, i've found another realist on the board!

Hey guys, if you wait a while you can get the same bar that custommaxima.com sells that should fit the 2k2-2k3 maximas perfectly. The bar is made by Vibrant out of Canada and they are currently modifying the '00-'01 bars to safetly clear the intake manifold on the newer 5th gens. I helped them test fit the bar and it also hit my manifold when put into reverse.

Is the installation of fsb (front strut bar) as easy as removing the strut screws and fastening the fsb down? Does it require a post-install wheel alignment or wheel balancing?
