You probably cant hit 6600 because the ecu tells the tranny to shift before that. If you want to hit 6600 leave it in 1

dirty little ECU secret. at least on the 2k/1. You cant hit the published max HP/rpm with the shift points we have. I suspect its the same way with 2k2+?

The max horse power in a 3.5 engine is at i think 5400 rpm. So why would you want it to shift at 6600?

Mine shifts early too; a few .org members have said their's shifts later (or at redline), so EDIT> that could be variation within the norms, or the ECU modifying behavior (i.e. if you do WOT shifts in 1st all the time, the ECU will start moving to max performance behavior - pun intended)...or even incorrect tach reading... <EDIT

You sure about this? I've never heard of a shift-point adapting ECU... What's your source of info?

Outside of manual shifting yourself no. That is unless you want to design a circuit that offers outside control of the shift soleniods. Even then you'd have to operate that with a switch or lever. I guess that is the price auto tranny drivers have to pay .

Sorry, in my post I was suggesting possibilities - should have specified that.

However, the transmission shift control is electronic, right? (once had to "reboot" my '95 by restarting after spinning off the road in the rain - long and largely uninteresting story). And in many cars you can choose "sport" mode or whatever, which allows different shift points, so shouldn't be impossible.
